You do know that several congressmen tried to use the guns fast and furious as an excuse to pass more gun laws.  And Holder has used them as an excuse to change ATF regs.   Looks like that may have been the real purpose all along.

Actually, it looks like another scam by the armaments lobby to boost sales, I guess the Obama scare is petering out.

Yeah. Like Geithner misunderstood Turbo Tax.

FR -  This thing just continues to get hotter

quote:

CBS News Reporter: WH, Justice Department Screamed At Me Over Fast And Furious

Laura Ingraham, host: "So they were literally screaming at you?"

Sharyl Attkisson, CBS News: "Yes. Well the DOJ woman was just yelling at me. The guy from the White House on Friday night literally screamed at me and cussed at me."

Ingraham: "Who was the person? Who was the person at Justice screaming?"

Attkisson: "Eric Schultz. Oh, the person screaming was [DOJ spokeswoman] Tracy Schmaler, she was yelling not screaming. And the person who screamed at me was Eric Schultz at the White House.......They say the Washington Post, the LA Times is reasonable, the New York Times is reasonable. I'm the only one who thinks this is a story, and they think I'm unfair and biased by pursuing it. My side of the story is I never knew where this story was going when I talked to those whistleblowers back in January and February, and I didn't care where it went. I'm just sort of digging away and going where it leads, but I'm sure they take it very personally because they have very important implications."

When somebody's "bright idea" goes horribly wrong, it can be really embarrassing for an adminisration.

A White House staffer screamed and cursed at a reporter? Who all might have thought this was a nifty scheme, and how far might they go to keep it a secret?

It's the cover-up that gets them.

Yup. And Holder is starting to smell more and more like a blanket left out in the rain.

In all of the years of having sitting Presidents in my opinion I never seen a President so disrespect in my life!  There is nothing he can do right!  He has been called names that just
shows so much wrong with the way he is treated! It has been a giant mess, many say "if you say something wrong about President Obama they call you a racist!  I normally would say no it is not racism!  I have walked through life and I only always felt as a person, no color no sense of being "picked" on by anyone, of another race!  my parents taught us we are people, and if you act accordingly you will gain respect no matter where you go, your head is held high, you have earn the respect you have!!!!!  I taught my children the same!  But how does a sitting President become a "dick' or even monkey it is sickening to think in this day and age racial names are still here?  He earn his respect through hard work , the respect of his peer's and educational degree's!!!!!!! He did not get elect by sheer luck!!!!!!   I find in some part it is indeed racism!  There was a thread or post by the spanish master that was so bad i just could not believe it was aloud on here!  His opinion was so crazy I thought I was reading it wrong so i went and reread his post!   It is so bad we have a sitting President whom is a African Amercian, that now everyone true colors has came, I am not saying everyone is a racist nor I am saying he is perfect!  But if anyone can tell me when has a President been called so many racial names?  I must go so what does everyone think , I am over blown or am I a little right on this subject and oh yes free speech is okay but then, hate when spoken as sm did it, it is wrong !''

What we understand is that this only about the 50th baseless "Obama is soooooo disrespected" rant weve had to suffer through in the last couple of months.

Providing amounts for the expenses of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in the One Hundred Twelfth Congress.

Hes just a porkulous republican spender. He can't be taken seriously. Hell even Deniro doesn't take him seriously. Says Issa looks more like a chump than a chimp.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) pledged on Wednesday to investigate both Barack Obama and George W. Bush with his newfound subpoena power when he takes over as chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

“I’m going to be investigating a president of my own party, because many of the issues we’re working on began [with] President Bush or even before, and haven’t been solved,” Issa said during an interview on MSNBC’s “The Daily Rundown.”

Issa made clear that he intends to examine both the Bush and Obama administrations’ handling of the mortgage crisis, as well as problems at the old Mineral Management Service, an arm of the Interior Department reorganized amid reports of corruption.

“When we look at the failures of Freddie [Mac] and Fannie [Mae], the Countrywide scandal, those all began during President Bush’s time,” Issa said. “When we look at Mineral Management Service and the ultimate failure in the Gulf, that began years before.”

“I’m hoping to bridge the multiple administrations in as many places as possible,” Issa pledged. “The enemy is the bureaucracy, not necessarily the current occupant of the White House.”

Associated Press
AP sources: Bush-era probe involved guns 'walking'

WASHINGTON -- The federal government under the Bush administration ran an operation that allowed hundreds of guns to be transferred to suspected arms traffickers - the same tactic that congressional Republicans have criticized President Barack Obama's administration for using, two federal law enforcement officials said Tuesday.

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and other Republicans have been hammering the Obama Justice Department over the practice known as "letting guns walk." The congressional target has been Operation Fast and Furious, which was designed to track small-time gun buyers at several Phoenix-area gun shops up the chain to make cases against major weapons traffickers. In the process, federal agents lost track of many of the more than 2,000 guns linked to the operation.

When Bush, a Republican, was president, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Tucson, Ariz., used a similar enforcement tactic in a program it called Operation Wide Receiver. The fact that there were two such ATF investigations years apart in separate administrations raises the possibility that agents in still other cases may have allowed guns to "walk."

For months, Issa and other Republicans have focused on whether Attorney General Eric Holder misled Congress, suggesting that he knew more than he has admitted about Operation Fast and Furious.

On Tuesday, the House Judiciary Committee chairman, Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, called on Obama to direct the Justice Department to appoint a special counsel to investigate. Smith suggested that newly released department documents point to the attorney general knowing about the Operation Fast and Furious as early as July 2010.

Federal law enforcement officials familiar with the matter say Operation Wide Receiver began in 2006 after the agency received information about a suspicious purchase of firearms. The investigation concluded in 2007 without any charges being filed.

Just more talk. Neither party has any interest in seeing the truth come out. They just have to do the dance in front of the people and make it look good.

Damn that Obama and his Administration. Even if this gets to congress Eric Holder is going to do waht Alberto Gonzales did with his I dont recall about the stupidity of Habeas Corpus or the warrentless wiretapping. It makes sick that the Obama Administration is using the tactics and strategies that Bush Administration used. That is copying a true America president policies for his own little sick twisted game. Bush was protecting us from terrorist that could already be in our country as sleeper agents which is more of a problem than Obama's war on drugs. We all know that when something bad happens under a Democratic President it their fault but when it happens under a Republican Presidents its someone else's fault. That how being a president in America works.

Every administration, every law enforcement agency engages in these sting operations. The difference here is that this administration was exceedingly careless, someone got killed, and its becoming apparent that Holder lied to Congress about his rather glaring fuck up (whether it was his personally, or someone under him).

Who was it who said "its always the cover up that gets them", Rich? This thing will continue to unravel.
