Saw Top Gun in a drive-in, and I wish that there was a way that I could go back in time and not have gone.  My step-father, who's a jet engine mechanic for the Air Force, stood up in the bed of the truck and bellowed at the top of his lungs "Turkey feathers don't work like that!!"

For any that don't know what turkey feathers are, they are the vector thrust fins on the back end of a turbine engine, like the ones used in the F-14.

Talk about wanting to melt into the paint of the truck bed suddenly.

Also saw Purple Rain and Grafitti Bridge, Doc Hollywood, Star Wars (or so I am told by my mother), Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi...

Although the best one, hands down, was seeing Hellraiser in the drive-in back in high school.  Pinhead, that tall... just awesome.

Have you ever seen a movie at a drive-in?

Boy does that bring back memories. But i don't remember actually watching any of the movies. There is still one theater around here, it might be fun to go, haven't been since the 60's.
