Status: offline 		Seen many movies at drive ins. Of course I saw most of them when I was younger. The attraction was that you could go with all of your friends and party while you watched the movie (it was the 70's afterall), or go with a special someone and get the windows steamed up!!!! Loved them and wished there were still more of them around. There even used to be a XXX drive in!!!

Status: offline 		Yup yup yup. I LOVE drive-ins. There are 2 of them within an hours drive or so or whee I live, they closest and turned the one in Fresno into a Costco, sucks.

Nothing better than bringing take-out, cuddling up under a sleeping bag with your partner and 'playing around' while a movie is going on and lots of vanillas within ear shot and who may walk byt at any moment. Its an exhibitionist's and voyer's dream come true.

I wish more were around I would rather see movies at a drive-in than a walk in.

Status: offline 		My family and I used to visit Showtown USA and the South Park Drive In regularly when I was a kid.  Sometimes we visited the concession stand, but mostly we popped gallons of popcorn at home and brought it with us.  We always wore our pajamas and brought our pillows and blankets, because we usually couldn't stay awake to see the end of the movie! Mom and Dad would by those little green mosquito coils and burn them on the ashtray.  They didn't work, of course, and we were battling the "skinnies" anyway.  We saw John Wayne movies, Star Wars...all kinds of stuff.  Dad would always point his side mirror to the screen behind us to watch the "grown up" movie that was playing that we children weren't allowed to see.  (not THAT kind of grown up movie!)  I miss the drive in...I wish there were one close enough I could take my kids.  They'd get a huge bang out of it, I'm sure.  How often do you get to go to the movies in your pajamas?

Shoot... for the first 12 years of my life, I didn't know there was any kind of theatre -besides- a drive-in. *chuckles*

These days, there aren't many drive-ins left and cars aren't very comfortable to sit in through a movie, IMO... small, cramped, and difficult to cuddle in.

I loved my parents' old station wagon. We'd lay on the hood and lean on the windshield to watch the movie, picnic on the roof of the station wagon (dad didn't want greasy fingers and barbecue sauce smearing up his windshield) or, if it got too 'buggy' or we got tired, climb in the back of the station wagon and either watch by sticking our heads between mom and dad's heads in the front seat or go to sleep.

Status: offline 		A bad thing about the drive-in was when you pulled into the perfect spot... that spot's speaker didn't work! High tech fixed all that, doing away with speakers and poles, broadcasting the audiotrack over your car radio. Now when you get the perfect spot and turn your radio on... a large 4-wheel drive SUV with 10 bicycles ontop pulls in front of you!

Drive-in's were and still are fun, and are getting more uncommon to see. My work involves flying so landmarks like drive-ins stand out from the burbs across the country. The attempts at X rated drive-ins used bright lights pointed outward from the drive-in so you could never see the actual 50 foot screen of filth and debauchery. At night, X rated drive-ins looked more like prisons from the air, lol.

It was american graffitti and byo apple pie, popcorn and hot dogs from the concession stand, or byo spam, potted meat, peanut butter & jelly sandwich...

It was often times paradise by the dashboard lights as young america discovered sex and drive-ins kinda went together.

How many men learned to unhook a bra with one hand at the drive-in?  (raise those skilled hand(s)) 

How many women learned the other use of the word head for their first time at the drive-in? (nod those 'heads', good girl!)

How many people could you stuff in the trunk, then ease into the back row long enough to let everybody out, then try to find a better spot...

Drive-in de ja vu!

Status: offline 		No I have never seen a movie at the drive in, and don't really care if I ever do...  I don't really see the advantage of watching from an enclosed car over the movie theatre, unless I'm with someone I find intensely hot, than being in our car might be better.
Of late though, I've been lazy about going out to the movies;  I usually wait for it to be on cable or buy a DVD.  Generally when I go out nowadays (infrequently, since the youngin was born), it is to a lifestyle related event, or to dance at a friend's party or club.   M

Status: offline 		Drive-ins suck. If I want to fuck I use my bed. If I want to hang out with people we use someone's house and have a party.

I guess I can't see the point unless you have to escape your parent's control or something. But my parent's allowed me to have girls overnight and to close and lock the door so I never had that problem.

Status: offline 		I loved Drive-ins!! Used to go with my family when I was little. We could wear out PJ's and bring blankets and pillows to cuddle up with while we watched a great movie like Sinbad! Teenage years meant dates with boys where the movie wasn't ever watched because our lips were stuck together.

Status: offline 		I have very fond memories of drive-ins. $2.00 for a whole car load of people.. you got TWO movies, PLUS could watch the first one a second time if you wanted and freakin' cartoons to boot! Cheap popcorn, cheap soda, cheap dates.. loved it, loved it.. couldn't pay me to do it now. lol

Status: offline 		I still love drive-ins, only the closest one to my house - the only one I even know of in the entire state of Indiana, is an hour and a half away.  There was an X-rated one we used to go to near Houston about 25 years ago, where I saw Sylvester Stallone in "The Italian Stallion," which was too funny for words.  And back home, we had three of them - one had four screens and you paid per person, the other two had two and three screens and you paid by the carload.  I think they're all shut down now.

Status: offline 		You are making us show our age again. Yes i loved the old drive in movies. I went as a child, i even got to take my children. It is a blast, in your car, relaxed, kids running at the playground, all the cool cars (ours had and still does, a car hop on Saturday night) the dancing hotdogs at intermission........

Yup- and don't cite my age as an issue!  My parents made sure I got exposed to the good stuff.

I like them for the unique experience, as an adult now I certainly can get into the "private space" fun.  But I don't like the bugs...
