I don't know how you feel about going to Disney early in the morning, but that's how we did it.  My boys were 4, 7.  We were there before the gates opened and had a definite plan of attack for which rides to do and in what order.  We stayed ALL DAY, didn't leave until after the parade.  We stayed with friends.  It was an exhausting day.  The next day we did nothing, went to the beach, it was a great plan for us.  My kids were older than yours and they tolerated the rides and fun well.  But, this was in early April, the weather was mild.  July is an entirely different story, it will be hot.

shivvy -> RE: I'm going to Disney World (5/23/2006 7:43:36 AM)

we're irish, but we live in england, and we went in august 2003, when my little girl woz 3. i dunno about anybody else, or wot it's like there in july, but anything ova 25 degrees C is too hot for us normally[:(]

we packed loads and loads of water in like these cool bag rucksacks, and we froze them overnight, so they took foreva to defrost. we got there first thing, and we started at the back and made our way towards the front.

If you're doing anyshows, then do them during the parades, coz the shows are pretty empty then. and like somebody else said, try and do the waiting outside rides first. in the afternoon, i seem to remember we spent most of the time in it's a small world and pirates of the carabean, coz the woz indoors and the water helped keep us cool too.

Fast passes are good for popular rides, and if there is more than one grown up going, you can do the parent swap thing as well, were one of you goes on first, while the other looks after the kidz, and then when thy come off, you're allowed on the next go.

the only other thing i can remember is we took about 10 tons of factor 45 suncream, coz me and my mum and kelly are really pale skinned, and we don't go brown. we just kinda go lobster red and then peel.

if you got a disney park pass, then don't forget the waterparks (blizzard beach, and that otherone along international drive. sorry, i can't remember wot itz called)

i hope you have a really grand time.

luv,

shiv
xx

See I think you're starting off wrong by going there and not Universal :)  I went there in April and i was totally awesome.

But guess you can make the most of what you have.

Aileen68 -> RE: I'm going to Disney World (5/23/2006 10:41:07 AM)

I'm actually planning on doing Universal a few days.  Haven't even began to research it yet.
My girlies are very into princesses.  That's how I know Disney will have a huge appeal.

siouxie -> RE: I'm going to Disney World (5/23/2006 10:42:21 AM)

just out of interest, at resorts such as disneyworld, what times are the rides open from and till? as at the theme parks over here, they tend only to be open from about 10 till 5 which is pretty crappy.

(or am i getting confused with busch gardens?... i dunno[:(]) i just luv going to america! - lol... Downtown disney is grand too - specially the winnie the pooh shop. i think i musta spent £200 (about half of all my money in there[:-])

shivvy -> RE: I'm going to Disney World (5/23/2006 10:57:03 AM)

hello siouxie hun,

i think if you are staying at a disney resort, they let you in about 8am, but if you're staying outside disney, you gotta wait till 9 i think. but the parks are open well late, till about 10pm i think[:D]

i hope you have a really grand time hunny,

luv,

I have nothing really to add here Aileen, other than:

I'm jealous ... I want to go ... and your new profile picture kicks ass. [;)]

MadameDahlia -> RE: I'm going to Disney World (5/23/2006 3:06:54 PM)

I haven't been to Disneyland in ages. I should steal a few of my friends and go... same with Magic Mountain.

It's too bad the two can't join forces... One has fun stuff to look at and mostly boring rides... the other has excellent rides and lacks in the scenery department.

Rumtiger -> RE: I'm going to Disney World (5/23/2006 3:32:36 PM)

I like Six Flags myself.

siouxie -> RE: I'm going to Disney World (5/23/2006 3:42:15 PM)

hey shivvy (scary - same name and stats as a friend of mine!),

thanks for the info, although i'm not actually going there at any point in the near future (being overdrawn by as much as i am and with a huge student loan i can't even afford to go to the swing park!) besides, i think all the people there would ruin it for me!
