I know we can hide people - but can we hide threads? Every now and then one comes up and the name alone makes me go ewwww....

right below the post of that person is a little icon with a red dash. It says "hide all posts by this user". I would think that would do it.

They should remove the whole, "hide/block" mechanic on here. Only sissies need to hide from their problems.

I've looked around on here to see if I could find a solution but I don't think there is one. The best you can do is hide the person but not an entire thread.

Sunny.. I've wished there was a function to hide threads/entire forums.. I dont think it's an option though... sigh

Of the 76 people that I have on Hide, only about a dozen still post. Some of the 76 are on Hide for using illegible font, though, and that their status may change.

Yeah, & one of the problems with the hide feature is that people will quote the asshat & you see what they post anyway, as has happened on this thread. I'm like you, Sunny. Some of the thread titles just squick me & I'd love to be able to hide them. And changing the title further along doesn't change the title in the forum list. Eventually, though, they just go away, as long as people stop posting on them.

Returning to the subject of hiding threads... Blind stitches are not hard to do, and I often do them myself by hand. But there's no such thing as a hem stitch you cannot see if you really look for it. Thicker fabrics, heavier fabrics, and fabrics with more texture conceal the stitch better. If you do a blind stitch on, say, a pair of lightweight tan pants, it becomes more difficult to conceal the stitch. This is particularly true if you use a machine, instead of doing it by hand. The reason is because if you set the tension wrong on the machine, you end up having the "crumpling" you're talking about. Yet, if you set the tension too loose, the stitch will come unravelled in no time (this is what is so much better about a hand-done stitch -- since it is a lock stitch and not a chain stitch, it won't come undone unless the thread literally breaks). Just playing along....... And nope, hiding a person only shows a red *IGNORED* above the person's name in the appropriate column. But yes, I too wish that you could actually hide the person's thread. But then again, think of all the train wrecks and comedic relief you'd miss! I may not care to read the OP, but the responses sometimes are a hoot! edited cuz the fonts won't work right!
