While my dad did not retire before we were born, but when we were well into teens and preteen ages, My dad often wishes he didn't retire so early, He retired right at the retirement age, I believe, I can't really remember but he feels he would of been better off working till maybe 65.

It would be extremely irresponsible for Daddy and I to have kids at this stage. We can barely take care of ourselves, or support ourselves, and often live pay check to pay check and have many times inbetween where there is no money for gas, or food, and we wing it on what he makes in one day, and the help of living with others who'll share their food. And not because we waste money or are living beyond our means.

I may be foolish and sometimes irresponsible with my own life, but I'd never be foolish with the life and future of a helpless child and purposely have one when I know we're in no way equipped to have or handle one.

In 4 or 5 years I'd be 34, still a good age to start having kids

You do not know that. Your clock is ticking and there is no saying when it will stop. It may stop next day or next week or next month, or six years from now.

Considering the length of time you have wanted children, my counsel is to have one as soon as possible - and to have fun doing so. Be positive.

Oh sweetie, that wasn't me raising my voice....it's the even scarier "Mom" voice.  I had a supervisor who gave it that term...she said she could always tell when I was dealing with a jackass on the phone, cuz it's the one I'd use to speak to them.

Then donate some eggs to a woman who can raise a child. Or be a host mother.

She could always freeze her own eggs for herself. In the event she decided to have a baby later in the future.

I don't think I EVER really wanted to be a mother. I never really liked other people's children, hated babysitting, and was sick of being made responsible for my siblings.

Then I got pregnant at age 16 and again a year and a half later.

Today I am thrilled to be the mother of a 30 year old daughter and 32 year old son. I have four grands.

No matter how miserable and hellishly hard you THINK parenting will be, it will be many many times moreso. To be a good parent you will sacrifice more of yourself than you thought existed. You will cry more than you thought possible. Your heart will quite literally hurt at the pain, the agony of watching your kids suffer things you cannot fix. It is also the most wonderful, rewarding, amazing and fulfilling 'job' you may ever have. Your heart will, at times, physically feel like it will burst with love. There is no other love like it.

That all being said, I firmly believe there are many people that simply should not attempt to be parents. I've had moments of feeling I was one of those people. Fortunately, my kids feel otherwise. I must have done okay.

[sm=goodpost.gif] Sounds like a very wise decision and exactly how I feel in my own life. I'm busy trying to do the right things myself. I don't have any desire to be responsible for another person. I'll leave that to all those who feel capable cuz I sure don't[:)]

I actually thought of egg donation for the money part of it, because you can get 3-5 k and that's a lot of money but I don't meet egg donation criteria. So it'd have to be a private person and not an agency, who doesn't mind I don't have a hoity toity back ground, like going to an ivy league college, having a high iq, and being super acomplished in life. and don't have any great wonderful acomplishes. Same with suragacy , I don't have anything outstanding to offer a woman to entice her to want me to carry her baby, And if I was gonna go through the stress of being pregnant, it sure wouldn't be to give it away. Daddy wouldn't support that either.

Well and on top of those requirements they do a full medical history mental and physical.

But you really can get more like 10-12K if you are under 30 for your eggs and meet all the requirements. Some companies pay less some more.

Yup, there is that too. And I don't think I'd pass the medical, I'm over weight, and I have a slipped disk that's pushing on a nerve, I suspect , pre diabetic, have a whole host of ailmets like bad knee's bad back, bad ankles, not due to being fat, but being fat doesn't help and I do have pychological issues and mental health issues. I doubt I'd pass any mental and psychological tests to donate. And even if I did, I wouldn't pass any of their be accomplished and preferred you have gone to an ivy league school criteria

The web page I read said that there's a cap on what you can get and it's rare you'd get 10k , you'd have to be some super special case, like a super super genius exception to the rest or something like that. It said the most people are likely to get are 3-5 k.

Also the procedure to procure the eggs is stated to be painful and kind of dangerous with all the drugs they pump you with so you'll produce eggs and the way the whole process was explained, it's very un appealing to me.
