Manners HA!

The problem with manners is the parents that are raising the kids without any manners, as it is a LEARNED behavior. If the kids don't have manners blame the parents.

I agree totally. If a child shows bad manners, then in my eyes, it's because the parents raised them that way.

Well i think its a couple of things , but yes the parents can be held accountable but so can peer pressure , and the
PC brigade can have a share of the blame, since teacher have no real control in the class rooms anymore !!
And parents are not allowed to discipline there own children !!

I disagree on the peer pressure. If a child is brought up to trust their own instincts, they will not fall victim to the excuse of peer pressure.

As for teachers, it's not their responsibility to raise our children, nor is it their responsibility to teach them proper manners. That is the sole responsibility of the parents.

As for discipline. That is another topic all together. One that has no bearing on whether or not a child learns good manners. Manners are learned through observance. Not through discipline.

What? how can you say manners are not learned by discipline?  My parents taught me to open a door for a lady, respect your elders. To this day if my mom asks something of me i still say ma'am. Did i do this because i saw my mother and father doing it, not so much. Dad told this is how you act. And if you dont act right, you may find yourself with an ass whoopin, which encourages you to use your manners lest you get beat. Raising your kids and discipline go hand in hand in all things. Now if we want to discuss how to discipline children that is another topic.

Once again, I disagree. But that's ok. You are entitled to your opinion, just as I am mine. Each to their own.
