Unless a con is willing to explain ,in detail, what he or she would do if they lost their money/home/health and didn`t have SS to fall back on,they are just blowing smoke and bullshiting everyone,including and especially themselves. Sleeping on your friend`s couch, doesn`t count as an answer.lol

I lost in that too. Then recovered, and came out ahead in the long run. Though I am amused you'd ask someone in his 30's if he remembers something 3 years ago.

But yeah, it's called being fiscally responsible. In my ideal world, SS would be the default option as a net for those who can't handle their own finances and savings responsibly, with the option to do it yourself if you can.

You have a computer and have told us how savvy an investor you are. You have told us that you have enough in your stash to last you for a couple of decades and you are only 34.
