Actually it often changes the connotation as well, which was what I was trying to help with.  If that doesn't work for you, so be it.

I understand your sensitivity on the subject as well as the semantics of your argument... however I do have a question for you. What would you prefer it to be called? Forcing your will on someone else without consent is possibly the most powerful thing someone can do. Forcing yourself on someone with mutual consent makes it fall into a different category than that of something nonconsensual so it really isn't the same thing. There should be a term for it and since the BDSM community often uses the word "play" to describe a "scene" then the logical conclusion would be "play rape." Perhaps a better term would be "scene rape" or "rape scene." Although the subject and the term may be distasteful for you does not mean that others cannot make the distinction between what is real and what is enacted as a fantasy.

The above is in no way meant to flame you, anger you or for that matter put you down in any way. Those are just my thoughts that I offer to, perhaps explain this.

My opinion is and always will be, whatever happens privately between two consenting, reasonably sane, adults is fine, you can toy with words and definations until your fingers cramp or you are blue in the face. To get upset about the term "play rape" is like getting upset at kids playing...cowboys and indians or war or any thing that is NOT real. Granted that is a bit of a stretch but still, we are talking "pretend". Much of BDSM is all about play, pretend and pushing those boundaries in a consensual and adult manner. Just because I find something someone else does distasteful does not give me the right to tell them they are wrong for doing it.

Seems i have 1,000's of BD fantasises, but "play rape" and "kidnapping" rank right up there.  There's s'thing so erotic about being in a head space where "danger" is "played with"; like riding a rollarcoaster.
