That is because Carter got alot of his election fund from the Shah. He was really a butcherer and irregardless of the fact we took him in, hid him from the people who wanted very basdly to express their views to him.
You don't even need the FOIA for that one, just look at who owns what.
If there was no Shah of Iran, there would be no Jimmy Carter. Now is this something else I have to go get documents for ? OK Jimmy Carter would have existed, but would not have become President.

Follow it through time, arm Iran, they depose our Shah, the Iatola comes in, then we get our Saddam right next door.
Yup it was all their fault. I am sure each of these heretics were given ample warning, that they could avoid this future if they just gave up theior sovereignty, took on a healthy national debt and mind the pipeline.
They had their choice. We have ours.
