This will automatically be dismissed as the ranting of a partisan hack(hi sanity) but the truth is I could not cast a vote in the Democratic primary in 2008, as I had just switched party affiliation.
Being as we are a two party system it dismays me to look at the collection of stiffs they are offering up for their parties candidacy . Seriously flawed each and everyone of them.On top of that the party faithful seem hell bent on putting forth as candidate one of the most flawed(Perry,though amongst this crew"most flawed" is a tough call). He is being hailed as a man with impeccable conservative credentials,yet his administration as Governor of Texas has serious cronyism issues.Haven't we seen this movie before?
Let's look at a few more of the party faithfuls choices....Bachman: right here your party loses any vaneer of seriousness add to her Paul and Gingrich....are you folks actually trying?
Cain ...when was the last time this country elected as President a businessman? Who is he Trump lite?
Santorum,hardly Presidential...and receiving the support that he is due...in other words he hasn't a chance of coming out of this proccess as the candidate.
That leaves us with Romney...whose best chance of winning the nomination involve running away from his own record re: Romneycare and perhaps the one who lies in wait.....Palin.
So while the country is in crisis this collection of idiots,religious right wing nuts is who you are offering up as a solution.....please my Repulican brethren we need to do better than this.A two party system only works when both parties are actually viable...your party is not viable as long as the only successful way out of the nomination proccess is to be crazier right then the next guy....what you wind up with is someone not electable in the general......and that does not advance the conversation nor the debate in the least.
Evict the far right from the drivers seat of your bus,I'm begging you for the good of the nation ...it is past time to take back your party.Way past time.
