But see, that's reason enough for them to want to control it... Don't worry folks Tea Party it up and you'll get a Coliseum inside the beltway before you know it.
And if you think those deals where the Romans flooded theirs and had little naval battles was cool... JUST WAIT... The Illegal Immigrants on JetSkis show is gonna blow your mind.

Another example of your rabid hate and prejudice, fargle?

Conservatives believe that placing your faith in government to solve your problems is less the road to salvation than accepting responsibility yourself.

As for "executions", since you've provided no proof or logical arguments, I can only assume - as I said in my first sentence - this is simply another example of your prejudice and unthinking hatred.

To counter your bald statement then, may I remind you that the principles that animated our Founders are pretty much the ones that animate many of our "conservatives" (who are mainly Republican) when it comes to both the role of government, and the way that the criminal justice system works.

For government: keep it chained, starving and balance competing interests against each other so that the likelihood of it gaining too much power are diminished. (We don't seemed to have done this too well).

As far as the criminal justice system (of which executions are a part), go through a process that weighs the alternatives and gives the benefit of the doubt to the accused, lets a jury of citizens make the decision about guilt or innocence, but, at the end of the day have ultimate social closure to the question at hand.  "Guilt" or "Innocence" are terms of legal reality, and regardless of the "real facts".

As far as the actual question of whether or not execution is "cruel and unusual", that description is based on nothing more than the societies definition of "cruel and unusual", and changeable.  Feel free to lobby in your home state for the repeal of any "cruel and unusual" punishment you wish.  Feel free to lobby for the elimination of execution at the national level.  Many conservatives - and Republicans - will join you.

But attempting to simply insult, degrade, marginalize an entire group of people you dislike based on generalizations is nothing more than displaying the fact that you can be a bigot and an ass.

EVERYONE should be skeptical of everything the government does! After all they're supposed to be working for us!
As for executions how's about we sentence murderers to life and if it comes out ten years later that they did in fact kill someone then execute them then when there's no doubt?
