The submissive stayed in the water and evolved into all the things still cool enough to swim all the time.

The switch thought about it and after awhile tried both. Evolved into something like ...a turtle? (I like turtles)

The chicken hatched from the egg. Which something had to crawl out of the water to lay. So we know it's not the chicken.

The egg....well there were a lot of those but I'm betting live birth trumps most of them. So pfft at the egg.

Everyone knows the troll didn't come first. It needed something to harrass so it had to wait for that thing to show up first.

Goats are evil and I'm not getting into when they showed up.

Only if the submissive evolved into a human sort of creature. I was giving the submissive credit for everything in the ocean. The ocean is so much cooler than land don't you know.

That's my point. The dominant crawled onto land, the submissive stayed in the water. Mermaid/man is half human half fish.
