M4S73R -> New Member of the Family (Elvira) (9/17/2011 2:28:41 AM)

So i have been away from the boards for while. I am looking at adopting another dog to the family. 6 week old Doberman female. Red/rust colored. Very excited.  Will be naming her Elvira. I am currently the proud owner of Anubis. 19month old 3 Champion bloodline Black/rust male. But its going to be a few months out. My breeder handles all ear cropping/posting before they will release her to me.  But in the mean time i'll be out at the farm doing bonding/training. Anubis met her today. He's excited as well.

Just for conversation, what kind of animals do you guys own?

Yeah.  That whole three days rocked our world.  [8|]

I have four cats.

You did strike me as a crazy cat lady.

LadyPact -> RE: New Member of the Family (Elvira) (9/17/2011 2:41:52 AM)

I should.  It's My softer side.

One cat (Jasmine) belonged to MP before I ever came along.

Angel (the "whiteness") was My daughter's cat before she grew up.

Demon was a scruff of a thing that MP felt sorry for and brought home.

Nermal, I admit, is Mine.  A little Maine Coon cat who looks like she never grew up.

ETA - Psst.  Post puppy pics!

Good to know you have a softer side. lol are they all indoor only cats, or do they run in and out?

LadyPact -> RE: New Member of the Family (Elvira) (9/17/2011 2:50:31 AM)

All indoor cats, hon.  All spoiled, the lot of them.  Probably a good thing now that we've moved to Alaska.

DarkSteven -> RE: New Member of the Family (Elvira) (9/17/2011 4:26:23 AM)

One cat, four chinchillas.

I encourage you to not have that done. It's cruel and there is no reason to have it done aside from aesthetics.

LaTigresse -> RE: New Member of the Family (Elvira) (9/17/2011 5:59:22 AM)

What the lady above me said.

I've got two horses......an arab and an arab mix. Mo and Maj.

One cat that was born feral down the hill from here and decided to be unlike the rest of his family and move up to the 'big house'. He just integrated himself without invitation.

One gold fish....the big yellow cichlid died a few weeks ago and I am struggling to buy fish that are not contaminated with Ick to replace him. And a yellow snail.

Three dogs that tend to rule the place. One, the youngest and largest, a female German Shepherd that keeps me on my toes. The middle sized dog was a rescue that the local shelter asked me to take as her bloodlines make her special needs. She is a Chow, Shepherd, Coyote mix. Very sweet, thick headed, flighty and funny looking. The Queen Bee of the neighbourhood is the smallest dog. Her mother was a Papillon and her father a Miniature Pinscher. It was an accidental pairing. Mostly she looks like her father except for being red with black points rather than black with red. But she does have the face shape of the Pap (which is good as it is cuter) and the ears of the Pap. I would never have dreamt (even though the breeder recommended it) of having either her ears or her tail cropped. With those huge ears, she would not be the Sophie we all know and love.

I own a cat-  just one...  and that is ample-   she is VERY loving-

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: New Member of the Family (Elvira) (9/17/2011 7:02:13 AM)

Silly man, everyone knows that it's impossible to own a cat. Cats don't have owners they have staff.

Hillwilliam -> RE: New Member of the Family (Elvira) (9/17/2011 7:06:05 AM)

An ancient bloodhound and a pup (17 mo) that seems to be part yellow lab and part rhodesian ridgeback and possibly other stuff

Kind of funny- I  was not cat person.  I was holding her till she could be picked up by a friend for a friend-- she won me over tho.  So I kept her.

damn, sorry about the sizes..I thought I'd resized enough

peppermint -> RE: New Member of the Family (Elvira) (9/17/2011 7:46:18 AM)

We have one tortoise. His name is appropriately Archibald as his shell is arched and he's bald. We've had him 3 years now. I'm allergic to dogs, cats, and rabbits. Living in a motor home full time means that we had to choose a pet that would take up little room and make the least mess.

NocturnalStalker -> RE: New Member of the Family (Elvira) (9/17/2011 8:05:09 AM)

I have a lion.

There are many that look like it, but this is the best lion.

See! Her plan worked and she now has staff.
