OP (that's you, Original Poster) in My opinion, it's still poly. The term poly means multiple relationships. If you are involved with your boyfriend AND he gets a sub as well, that means he has two relationships. It's not monogamy, even if you and he aren't having sex. There's a relationship going on there of some kind and any submissive that he would hope to get would have to accept that he wants TWO relationships.
I have to agree with the others that he should be the one doing the searching. I didn't see anywhere in your posts that he told you to do this because he is your Dominant. (Granted, I didn't read your profile.) With this in mind, it comes across more as you trying to play match maker for your boyfriend, and as you've noticed, that doesn't go over very well.
