Is it your premis that if women quit working that will reduce the size of the labor force and thus push wages up for men?

How does that saying go, Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner?

Who ever first made it up is obviously a moron with no understanding of what words mean.
To repeat the mutterings of a moron makes the speaker seem less than discerning.

Lucylastic -> RE: Millionaire tax called 'class warfare' but..... (9/19/2011 4:53:33 PM)

its a case of blaming everyone but the culprits
its not warfare, its math...
not women, not the poor, not the people living below the poverty level.
going back before civil rights is NOT the answer, how arrogant at all the revisionist history and zero blame taken by those part of the problem.

We agree on everything but the first point.

There have been studies that show that the gender gap doesnt exist, that it is an experience/education/industry gap and as the societal changes level those differences the apparent gender gap is narrowing.

It really makes no sense for there to be a gender gap. Businesses pay what they need to for skills and experience, and if a woman has them they have to pay them accordingly or lose them to the competition.

Well, the only worthwhile answer to THAT is:

My studies will beat up your studies! So there!

In other words for every study that can be pulled up, one can be pulled up to refute it. Then we would have to start name-calling. Kind of like anthropologists do. And I really cannot get into that tonight because I have to take a pie out of the oven in a few minutes. [:D]

Again we agree on almost everything. In this case, I have no pie in the oven!

I will go ahead and answer this. No. It is a function of income and outgo. And I NEVER said for the woman to quit.

It has little to do with strong unions and a lot to do (and I guarantee this comment will be mischaracterized by some here) with women's "liberation". That social dynamic where women were told they could "have it all" led to a marked increase in women in the workforce, lowering wages for all due to the increased supply of labor.

With the women's liberation movement what happened to the unemployment rate?
Can you show any correlation between the two?
If not you have once again been shown to have no control of the childish mutterings that eminate from your mouth.

GOP Rep Jon Flemming puts it all into perspective. He owns a bunch of small business from subways to ups stores and makes $6.3 million gross income last year, 2010. Due to the cost of doing business, taxes, and feeding his family, he only ends up with $400,000 net income aka profit. What the hell is he going to $400,000 dollars its not enough to buy a private plane, take a vacation, buy a fancy sports car, or buy a small island. He cant go out and create new jobs with that kind of money or start another small business. Obama's class warfare never creates jobs instead it cause people like Jon Flemming to cut their net profit down for what? The middle class to pay less taxes? Outrageous.

Even though you didnt intend to, you actually have supported the arguments in favor of not increasing taxes on this group of people. If the figures you cite are correct, how big an increase in taxes do you think someone would bear before they say fuck it, Ive risked my capital and have to shepherd multiple businesses for what? I could make more money as a butcher.

Then I am at a loss as to what you mean. If we have a two income earning family and one quits earning then how does that give that family less debt and more disposible income?

1. We were talking about Flemming.
2. Google it (with "you" instead of "I")

Butchers make about $15 per hour. For all your bragging about how smart and rich you are now you tell us you make less than $30k a year.
We all knew you were a disengenuous individual but now we hear how disengenuous you have been from your own mouth.
