It seems every time I go to upload a new picture it gives me an error and claims to have updated my picture. But when viewed it is still my old one. Is this an on going issue of am I the only one?

I think you have to delete the old one off your profile first.

I think Hill is right. Remove the old pic, then add the new one. If you want to upload the old pic as a secondary, it should give you the option in a drop down menu.

Right now, you have 11 photos posted, including your main profile photo.
If you are trying to swap out photo #5 for a different one, for example,
you must first remove the current photo #5 by editing the profile and clicking
the box that says Remove This Image.

For the past week or so, there has been a noticable lag when I switch images,
and the page itself will say Temporarily Unable...blah blah blah.
Even with that message, the image does eventually show up as changed, although
sometimes its taken as long as 24 hours. It may be a browser issue on my end, but
I'm not too bothered by it as yet.

I had a similar issue. I finally figured it out. The CM system takes time to update new pics. Whenever a pic is delete from a profile it is actually just hidden, not deleted. It's not deleted until the next CM system wide update. If you delete a pic, and then add a new pic in its place, you'll still see the old pic until the system wide update occurs. Once the update occures then you'll see your pictures the way they were meant to be seen.

I don't think anybody is immune to the approval cycle. Sit tight and if its not resolved 24 hours from now. Contact a Mod.

Pictures have not been subject to pre-approval for a couple of years now; they are instant-upload. Clear your cookies and your cache, and restart your browser to clear any stale images. Some browsers hang onto the old page longer than others.

This is generally why we tell people to write to Support, so they don't get well-meaning, but incorrect, answers to their issues.

Well, I'm just going bu personal experience, I have changed a profile picture as late as 11 months ago if I remember correctly. And that time and the time before that I had to wait 24 hours before seeing the updated picture. My browser cache clears at restart. And I blow out all cookies whenever I see a browser anomaly, so I doubt that was it what you describe in my particular case. The earlier occurrence was long enough ago that the 'policy' was still in play. I probably just caught your board on a bad hair day.

Having some experience in the computer world, I think it probably had to do with the server net getting updated so you are who you picture yourself as.

I think it would depend on traffic, day, and how many servers are casters up, and how many servers are casters down.

I haven't checked, but one wonders if they have a dedicated picture server....
