What do we pay these guys for??  They do nothing while in DC and take more vacations than Obama.

Hmmm. . . Solyndra maybe? Or LightSquared?

tazzygirl -> RE: Another vacation for Congress??? (9/21/2011 8:34:11 PM)

What does that have to do with vacations?

Who fucking knows what we're paying for at this point. Time to send Boner packing though. He is now the all time record holder for least effective speaker of the house. Even SeaHag could control her own party.

Time for the Republicans to replace him with a speaker who can at least rally all elements of his party around the MAJORITY instead of the fringe...

Looks like someone 3 comments down called it a vacation... it's not... it's another hijacking of the legislative process. This nonsense better stop... if these idiots let things keep getting gummed up past those self-destruct deadlines. They will start getting their asses handed to them in the voting booth.

Actually, in my OP, I was addressing the statement that both houses are going on a week-long "recess" soon when they've just come back from a 5 week one.  So when do guys actually "work"?  I make a paltry percentage what our elected officials earn and despite the fact that I have nearly 6 weeks of vacation built up, I can't take one because my agency is concerned with "billables".  IOW, if I'm on vacation, the agency gets no money from the insurance company because I'm the only person in my department who actually does any billing.

When they arent in DC they do have responsbilities in their home states. I doubt this is much of a vacation for
most of them.

I think that they are trying for one week a month. Which is far more work days than was originally conceived. Do you really want to give these folks more time to come up with crap like bunny inspectors?

Bunny Inspectors??? At the Palms in LV? Maybe a career change is in order!

These are Federal Inspectors employed by the Department of Agriculture to enforce laws requiring you to have a Federal – not local, not state, but Federal – permit to sell rabbits as pets. Actually it gets worse: they also go about investigating stage magicians including local amateur stage acts to see if there is a rabbit involved in the act. Interestingly, if you kill the rabbit in the act, or sell them for meat, or even feed them to snakes, no Federal license is required. Only if you use them in the stage act, in which case you must have a license and proper transportation equipment, and yes, highly paid Federal civil servants actually roam the land looking for magic acts that may or may not employ rabbits. And you get to pay interest on money we borrow from China to pay these civil servants including their medical care and retirement benefits.

Early for the Dems? I have been getting daily emails from them begging for money to help put Obama back in the white house for a couple months now. I don't think they understand what "to early" even means.

You must not be on the right list then. You can go here https://donate.barackobama.com/page/contribute/o2012-dinner-with-barack-sept?source=20110916_jm_nd&utm_medium=email&utm_source=obama&utm_campaign=20110916_jm_nd&keycode= and check it out. You can even donate money and win a chance to have dinner with the President.

tazzygirl -> RE: Another vacation for Congress??? (9/23/2011 10:30:08 AM)

Naaa.. I am on the local ones. But thanks. I gotta wonder why you would be signed up on a dem site. I would also wonder how many republicans have sent out in the same time frame.

Ah, questions questions.

You subscribed to those emails you get... there is a link at the bottom to make them stop.

WillBee gets the same emails, except they have this in the header...
