The problem is that there are very few decent politicians. If the people are not united in over turning things, and point out the exceptions, then more and more people will find exceptions. Then with all the exceptions, we continue to have what we have. In a political revolution, basically reminding every politician they are a servant of the people first, there may be some casualties in the beginning, but...... they will be the one's that will see what is going on and support it. There needs to be term limits. No corporate donations, including PACs. All contributions should be from individuals, with a limit. There should be a max amount of funds allowed, the power of the dollar should not determine an election. Until we the people decide we are going to do what is needed to uphold the very basic principles of a republic, via a democratic process, then things will continue as they have until it takes something much more severe than this. quote:
ORIGINAL: erieangel I'm not sure I agree with this. I actually liked a former representative we had (Phil English) even though he was a Republican. He lost in '08 to a do-nothing Democrat who in turn lost to a tea party candidate who hasn't even seen fit to have a town hall meeting since he got into office. I can't even remember the guy's name and have to look it up every time I want to call his office. And btw, even though my city is the largest city in his district, he saw fit to close his office here.
