Status: offline 		I would have trouble with a man hiring an illegal prostitute. No medical checks, and too often they are underage runaways. It's the underage part that bothers me primarily. But not using a condom also squicks me.

Pro dominants and submissives are a very specialized skill set and one that men frequently cannot find in a person they also wish to have a relationship with. That bothers me less, primarily because the people doing this as a living tend to get some kind of training and experience. Since damaging your clients tends to get visits by the local police. In order to protect themselves, they have to behave ethically.

Status: offline 		One of the boards I frequent has a lot of professional ladies on it. Because of what I read there, I wouldn't be as inclined to believe him when he told me protection was used. He'd have to be really believable. Not because the girls are so easy, but apparently, almost to a man, they request bareback.

As far as paying for entertainment, I don't have a problem with it.

Cheating, I do have a major problem with.

I guess this is just a lot of words saying...it depends!

fair play. i've paid for plenty of dominatrixes and session wrestlers but never for sex. i've always assumed that there must be agencies that treat their women humanely and are sticklers for safe sex and testing but that could just be an example of me being naive.

As I see it, there shouldn't be any difference.  The pro would not exist without the client, so from a moral/ethical standpoint, neither is better than the other.

Status: offline 		Thank you to everyone that contributed. Like I said, in my mind I see no issue with it, in fact I think professionals are a really good idea. I am just trying to work through the irrational gut reaction that makes no sense to me.

Status: offline 		If it was in the past, I wouldn't reallly care, depending on the circumstances. Was he in a relationship? Did his partner know and approve? I'm not a poly person, so while I can understand a guy (or girl) wanting some no strings fun when not in a relationship, I'm not that bothered. Even if he was in a relationship where his partner knew and had no problem, I don't see an issue. The partner NOT knowing? Now there is a problem. Since I'm one of those silly monogomous people, I don't care what his reasoning is, or what side of the kneel I'm on, he visits a pro while we are in a relationship, he's history.

And LaT, there is a part of me that also wonders why he couldn't just get laid for free.

It may have nothing to do with not being ABLE to get laid for free. As I mentioned earlier, sometimes people just want exactly what they want when they want it and don't want to have to jump through hoops - or get involved with strings attached with someone - to get it. It's really that simple.

You can get dressed up, go out to a bar, buy the drinks, talk the talk, find someone who MIGHT be into what you want and do that whole dance and deal with possible repurcussions later OR you can go to a pro, negotiate a deal, do exactly what you want, pay for it and go your separate ways smiling that you both got what you wanted out of it.

That scenario has nothing to do with not being ABLE to get what you want another way. It's all about the simplest way of getting it now. Not a thing wrong with that in my mind..........luci

Status: offline 		If someone told me that they had paid for a service in the past I would feel they wanted me to know that about them for some reason. Judging them one way or the other would not happen, nor would having a feeling about it. It doesn't make me feel one way or another knowing that someone was involved in a pay for play transaction, either as the one who paid or the one who got paid. I would be focusing on their having told me about it and not on what it was they told me about. Why did they tell me? Do they want me to know something about them, was it just a good story, or are they seeking acceptance, or pushing for a negative reaction? Why did they want to put to front and center something about their past that is none of my business?

Status: offline 		It would bug me a little if they had seen a prostitute. Not a deal breaker, but it would bother me. Apart from concerns about disease, it would make me think they were so desperate for sex that they had to pay for it. For me, sex is meaningful, not for sport. On the other hand, admitting to it would gain them points for honesty.

If they visited a professional kinkster for the purpose of learning, it would not bother me, unless sex was involved. i confess i am prejudiced against people with huge sex drives. i see them as shallow. i'm sure other people see me as a prude.

In the U.S., rural counties in Nevada exclusively. Everywhere else it's illegal so they can't set up regular appointments to have doctors come in and check out the workers.

Even in those areas of Nevada however, most sex workers will not get a client if they insist on gloved love. Guys want to go bareback.

I completely agree with what both of you said.  No fuss, no muss, goodbye, have a good life.

I wouldn't care at all.  I've actually brought it up regarding having a fun and easy threesome.  But he said no.
