There are people in this world that protest via what we see on the streets, but there are other kinds of protester too, for many know full well the system cannot be beaten by violence as violence begets violence, so there is much truth in the saying;

The pen is mightier than the sword, or in this modern world the keyboard.

But what do we think when we see those who protest on the streets ?

What do we think when we watch the authorities putting down a protest ?

Does viewing such material change us ?

I had posted this as it's own thread, but it's just as relevant here:

But yeah perhaps America has become what those European immigrants left behind.

But on speaking with a professor of American history only last night I understand those puritans that escaped Europe in their leaky ships, the first thing they did when they met the native peoples was to convert them to Christianity and we all know conversion to a like faith is about control, so those first immigrants brought with them the seeds of that which you have become.

You are no different from us, for we are similarly oppressed, but perhaps our only difference, is except for the young, the fight has gone out of our country.

And why has the fight gone, because we have been blinded by bullshit, notions of our own petty importance, the I'm alright jack scenario, and whilst that exists divided we will fall.

Perhaps the young can see what we have trouble seeing.

People with malicious intent are everywhere. Every dam place. Not all the folks getting on ships to escape the narrow views and rigidity of their culture were evil. It took 400 years to take down the beautiful Native American culture (yes they had bad folks here too, some Indians were warring muh fuhs too). People with bad intent need to be outed from the power position they gain from our own denials and buying into Intimidating Form. The meek deserve the planet and no one else. One can be meek and have enormous personal power.

I realize it says "Unconfirmed" but let us hope there is truth here.

"We are not doing anything."

Police always get away with being just a little too tough...every day the police act a little too tough and get away with it...there is a Rodney King everyday in America...they know just how much lattitude their department lets get them away with...none of them will be charged with the false arrests...the department already said they have not acted inappropriately... the American police have yet agaiin gotten away with crimes against the American people they are sworn to serve and protect... so said Lawrence O'donnell with "The Last Word".

Besides calling names let us face facts, example Monsanto poisoning our food and making/intending to make good food/seeds illegal. Her calling Monsanto, Monsatan is great. She would not call herself a leftist. She clearly states this in this video. Sanity you suck man.

Kinda interesting thought.

Right wingers protest and bring guns (tea party) and noone does anything.

Lefties protest unarmed and get the shit peppersprayed out of em.

I am standing in full support of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Its time for real democracy in America, not the corporate fascist shills of the Tea Party.

The difference being, tea party members don't start a near riot and start fighting with law enforcement. They don't try closing down the Brooklyn bridge. They have a peacefull gathering and go home at the end of the day. They are not camped out for weeks on end causing havoc.

You forgot to mention that the teapartiers who can amass a crowd of almost 2 dozen do not have the logistic problems of those in the 10s of thousands or better.

Got any evidence of fighting with LE or starting riots?

Hold it now. You are blaming the wrong people. Congress is the problem if they allow our meat to be cloned or genetically modify our seeds. Yet you keep voting more government that regulates away things we want like all natural food and lightbulbs.

Actually it is the police that started the fighting. Policists.
