So  would it be fair to have in my house a cat with claws when my cat has no claws?

While I was on a walk- I seen a kitten and it was so tempting to take him home.   I dont think it belonged to anyone.

I would get the new one checked out at a vet first. You don't want to be bringing a kitten in before making sure it isn't carrying diseases it could give to your cat. Then I would introduce new kitty to yours slowly to prevent huge fights since your cat doesn't have claws to fight back with.

As long as your current cat has teeth and back claws, she'll show junior who's boss.

My first cat has no front claws. We got her that way. Since then we've added other cats and dogs to the menagerie. And believe me the first has a way of showing she's top cat when necessary. When I brought the second cat home, who at the time was just a kitten to her learned 2 years of age, and the kitten tried to attack her tail, she turned and gave him a resounding thud on top of his head. No claws were needed to get the message across. She still does it to this day when one of the other animals gets too wound up around her. One well placed thwack and all is good in her world.

As I've posted, I just brought a beebee into the house.  It's the last one of the 3 that were in the bushes, I have no idea where the other two are.  After getting bathed, I put him in the back bedroom, and have introduced him slowly over the past few days.  He seems to have latched onto Boo, who has been a very good boy about it.  It's hysterical to see these 20 lb cats running away from a barely 6 ounce kitten.

He's pounced Boo's tail a couple of times, and Boo has thunked him on the head.  No claws, just the pop to the noggin.  I don't be lieve in declawing cats, but mine don't use their claws on each other, unless it's Smooch going after Squeaks, and she'll turn around and nail him too.  If you don't trust your cat to not hurt the kitten when you're not home, then seperate them.  Mine are okay with the little guy, so after the initial night, they have all been together.  When they really get tired of him following them, they simply jump up high....leaving the poor little guy on the floor looking up and saying "WTF???  NO FAIR!!!!"

Any issues the cats are having will work themselves out.  My hope is that my neighbor will actually take the little guy, as her puppy gets lonely when she's not home.  But if that doesn't work, well, then I guess I'm halfway to crazy cat lady status!  [:D]
