Her journal entry (for today) gives the same clue of a soon-to-be B'day party.  Guess we're premature.....  hold onto that yelling "Surprise" until we hear more. LOL!

Oh my! [:D] Thank you! Its like fourteen days away though! That's one cool cake and I am sure all my candles would cover it well and yes Polite one... it could be a hazard. [:D]

My daughter and son in law are trying to get me to meet a co worker and they were going to do my birthday, but then they decided it would be tonight for another birthday party, knowing I would find some way to get out of it, they had to go for each to see that I had to make one. So, I guess I get a man for my birthday! If the house doesn't burn down! [;)]

Well, a future [sm=birthday.gif] wish to you Lockit! :) And I can think of worse things than getting a man for my birthday. :D Unless he has lousy hygiene...and...well...I won't further elaborate other than to say unless he's so entirely and completely incompatible. ;)

I guess that "counts" as the b'day wish for the 1st of Oct. - 10 minutes left - just under the wire.... Wait!  The cake was first up.... okay, okay, two for the first day. LOL!

I just ate my dinner - 12:30 AM local time.  Made my always-changing veggies-and-pork stew / or it is soup?  Who cares?  It was delicious.  So that's my Oct. 2nd wish for you - wonderful meals - home cooked - you get to decide the menu.

P.S.  Canned tomatillas, tomatoes (fresh and canned), three kinds of sweet bell peppers - one of which tastes like candy, two kinds of onions, sorreno hot peppers, chipolte hot peppers, cumin, garlic powder, and only a touch of salt.  But the VERY best part?  The pork.  Nice, small roast.  I had butcher cut into cubes.  Then, instead of my usual frying, I spread them out on a baking sheet and broiled 'em.  Carmalized one side, flipped and carmelized the other side.  Drained fat bewteen the two broilings.  I tasted the pork before adding to the crock pot.  "Yikes," I thought, "Way too dry."  Nope, not after the juices were absorbed.  Tender, juicy, flavorful.  Flavors melded perfectly, and yet stayed distinct.

Fresh flour tortilla - hey! this IS the Southwest, y'know! Man, life is good!  And that is my wish for you, m'dear.  Wonderful food.

It was the lemon cake that I was lustin' after! So there!!! Whole Foods Market carries a few of the Just Desserts varieties, although not all of them.
