Actually not quite.. while his work is not without controversy... it is still considered to have value...and even if you don't subscribe to Kinsey... sexual orientation is not black and white...

You are the first person Ive talked to that after looking into his loosely called "research" to agree with any of his premises. With that said from a practical standpoint you only have 3 choices and "mostly straight" is NOT one of them. Either the same sex turns you on or it doesn't not much room to quibble.

This blurb is from the Indiana University site in Bloomington... it comes up with a quick google search about the value of Kinsey's work... there's more.. but I really don't feel like taking all the time to back up what I say.. you don't seem bothered by backng up your claims...

How has the data held up, over 50 years later?
In 1979, Gebhard and Johnson published The Kinsey Data: Marginal Tabulations of 1938-1963 Interviews Conducted by the Institute for Sex Research, reanalyzing the original data to be more statistically accurate. Interestingly, most statistics, such as homosexual behavior, did not change significantly from the original reports. To this day, researchers still request original interview data to analyze and compare to current research findings. Kinsey is widely respected today for interview methodology, documenting the wide variation in sexual behavior, studying the differences in male and female sexual response and perceptions, and launching the scientific study of sex.

As far as citing sources it's "common knowledge" that the Kinsey report has no basis in reality so I didn't see a need to. So here it goes.

Really you must be joking??? That is the school that funded his research of course they are gonna tell you what a great guy he is sheesh. I have some ocean front property in Kansas to sell you. When is comes to science you have to think in terms of peer review not the school that funded him.

If you really want to know how jacked up he really was. Watch the PBS show "American Experience Kinsey" you can get in on netflix you might be able to see in on the pbs website. PBS as always does a great job of showing all sides to a issue, allowing the viewer to draw their own conclusions.

Basically he was a homosexual voyeur who didn't conform to scientific standards while doing his "voodoo research". betcha didnt know that about him

Watch the movie I'd be really interested in you opinion of him after viewing it.

OP:  Go for it. Seems to me the best way to see what you like without all sex and relationship jumble. Add that later.

I have to say as far as the OP is concerned i have never thought of BDSM and power exchange as related to sex . It is a state of mind .

Also while i am not a subscriber to Kinsleys research as such i do agree there is never a black and white when it comes to sexuality and personally i have no preference when it comes to submitting to Males or Females, though i would commonly identify myself as a straight male .... if you never examine it and dismiss it out of hand it comes across as close minded - which is odd in this kind of community but not unexpected .

That said - i cannot understand those who call themselves switches . As a submissive i cannot imagine topping or being Dominant to anyone .. to me switching is just wrong ...
