Anyway... wouldn't recommend 24/7 wear for just anyone as it is very true that you may end up needing diapers no matter how many preventative steps one may take. While I was a little hesistant in the beginning, my body has gotten very used to having a plug inserted that I feel empty without one. Mistress Taryn decided that I am to remain plugged forever as a permanent reminder of Her ownership of me [:D]

Here is an actual locking butt plug. http://www.meo.de/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=8748 It is similar to the pear that is refernced above in a wikipedia link. But this one is not designed to do damage. Unless of course you decide to lock it in your slave's ass and leave them alone wearing it when they need to eliminate. It is amazing what the sphincter muscles can handle, but "blow out" is a definite possibility. As to the original question about long term wear. Get a copy of Anal Pleasure and Health by Jack Morin, PH.D. You can easily find it on Amazon for a reasonable price. And as I recall, it is available in Kindle format too. And I agree, the Collar is the symbol of ownership.

Something I would like to say is that I have actually done the whole long term but plug thing. I also happen to know alot about the human anatomy. Here is what I would like to say. Although wearing long term is a great way to stretch out the muscles down there..... its just that stretching. When you stretch your biceps do you think they stay stretched forever? If that where the case I wouldn't be able to bend my arm all the way back up when it flexes. The point being is that it makes the muscle more flexible not perma-bigger. When you take out the but plug, after a few hours you anus muscles will return to the proper placement.... but now it doesn't hurt as much when you place something back in. So yes it is safe and no you wont be needing diapers. I wish I still had the links but there are M.D. Documentation out there on the internet about medical studies done dealing with long term effects of anal dilation. Just be for warned, it does take a couple hours for the anal muscles to constrict back to proper portions so stay close to a toilet for an hr our two after removing it if your in the larger sizes.

First of all, the consensus of the medical profession (yes, the information CAN be found online) is that there is "no proof that wearing a butt plug for extended periods of time will lead to the necessity for diapers over time." So hopefully that question has now been put to rest once and for all!! HOWEVER... It is NOT advised that people wear them for extended periods of time...like THREE YEARS or a LIFETIME!! I actually own a locking butt plug..it's extremely hard to actually lock it though..even with a second person. But it's no more uncomfortable than a regular plug.

since we are on the subject I cant keep my plug in no matter what size I use as soon as I get it in and let go of it it pops out ,is there a trick to getting them to stay in???I even had a inflatable one ad it would come out even when umped up

They should just stay in by themselves..some plugs come out but ones like the world's most comfortable butt plug http://www.mr-s-leather.com/D259/world-s-most-comfortable-butt-plug.html should stay in easily..

" I have purchased and worn one , it is comfortable. If you were to wear it long term then, my guess is you would ALWAYS need to be standing or lying on your stomach. You see the "handle" protruding outside of the but is quite cumbersome. If you were to sit down it would certainly knock you and probably push the device ( handle included) further up your hole. i imagine if you sat down abruptly , it may well cause you damage. i imagine it is useful if a Dom were sending his subject out alone to a bar , swingers party , sex club etc... and want the sub to remain chastised. The subject would be standing. If however the sub needed to sit in a car , bus , restaurant etc... i can't see it working to be honest.
