Status: offline 		I have shaved my bush before and it was really itchy and had small bumps......any suggestions on how to keep that from happening again...............

Status: offline 		keep doing it over and over again. Eventually your body adjusts unless  you have skin that is sensitive to shaving. If that's true then the only kind of advice I can say is moisturizer after.

Status: offline 		I like using my epilator, and tweezers for any strays I miss. Doesn't ever itch, and any regrowth is lessened.

Status: offline 		I have problems getting the skin taut enough to use the epilady there, or definitely would! Though I do have issues with ingrown hairs on my legs, so a lot of exfoliation is important. I have those nylon bath gloves, they are great.

Status: offline 		Try shaving with a silicone-based lube. It'll help keep your blade sharp and soften the hair follicles. When it starts to grow back a dab of silicone rubbed into the skin will keep the follicles soft so it doesn't itch as much.

Status: offline 		for me the key was getting a good razor with moisture strips and using a vitamin e shaving cream, kept the skin from getting irritated. I think there's always a little 'ugh' when stubble comes back in just go sans undergarment at those times when feasible.

Status: offline 		Warning: Product Placement... I recently got introduced to a product called Coochy. It's a full body shave cream, designed for sensitive areas. Moisturizes the skin, softens the hair, doesn't cause the razor to rust. You should be able to get it in any adult store, or online.

Also an option, I remember seeing an after-shave moisturizing lotion that included a growth inhibitor, to slow down stubble. You might want to see if they still make it.

Status: offline 		Conventional shaving cream has artificial fragrance and other chemicals that irritate me. Aveeno and Kiss My Face make fragrance-free products.

Now I just use Avalon Organic shampoo which is free of artificial fragrances and other harmful chemicals. When I'm economizing, I use the big pump of Everyday Shea shampoo from Whole Foods. This also works as a body wash, but I found it too heavy to use as shampoo.

Note - if it's a real jungle down there at the moment, I recommend you do a little each time you shower and start with a fresh, good quality razor.

That is generally in-grown hairs. When the hairs are shaved and try to grow again they can grow crooked and get jammed under the skin which then creates a bump and an itchy reaction. Thus it is best to shower before shaving, not to shave too close, or not to shave at all, since shaving is unnatural. Even tweezing the hairline can create in-grown hairs. I got tired of the many disadvantages and prefer to trim closely instead.

Status: offline 		i know when i get bushy down there or skip weeks or even if its slightly stubbly i take my electric razor to the long portion to cut it down to the skin and my ele-razor has kinda like an epilator part to it so it hurts a bit when it pulls. then i take a normal single, double, or more bladed razor to touch up and it makes the mound all nice and silky baby bottom smooth till the next time i do it. when using a battery powered ele-razor make sure that the batteries have a high enough charge that the blades move fast so as to cut not pull the hair.

P.S. i got my battery razor at the local dollar general and it works on AAA batteries.

Status: offline 		i exfoliate before and after with the same scrub i use on my face, which keeps a lot of them at bay (especially if i keep it up every couple of days) but my skin is really sensitive and hates shaving, so i just don't do it very often. thankfully, i've had dudes in my life who didn't really care. sure they had preferences but understood that a bad skin reaction was pretty unsexy. haha =p 

i'm fascinated by the silicone-lube-as-shave-gel suggestion... now i want to try that. haha

i prefer to be shaved; i've never liked the hair. but it's such a chore...

Keep going. It gets better, unless you have ubersensitive skin.

VC (who can't imagine giving up shaving. Lying back in the bath and paying serious attention to important skin that then gets all soft and sensitised; what's not to love?)
