Just let your imagination run wild, and dream sweet dreams- and realize that your future owner will have their own dreams they cherish as well, and that some dreams are best left in the realm of fantasy.
Me personally:
If I had a puppy, I'd pet him and love him, and I'd remain focused on obedience, humiliation, objectification, ownership/slavery- as always...

He would have speech and eye restrictions, and be taught hand and eye signals, and he'd need to be very willingly obedient and compliant, attentive and patient... And be willing to suffer for my pleasure and amusement.
And he'd still hafta do all the stuff any normal person has to do, day to day. He'd hafta have a productive, fulfilling vanilla life, while still being my adored, treasured puppy.
I'd either have him be puppy all the time we had together privately-and be cuckolded, (maybe watching, close by my side while I have another slaveboy pleasure me).... Or, he'd be required to slip in and out of his puppy side, so that he could alternately serve my needs by being a man, and then on signal- being my darling little doggie- and then back to slaveboy, as needed.
We would be strongly bonded, devoted and loyal to one another, just as I would require with any D/s relationship of mine.
So I'd need a puppy boy whose needs and desires are compatible with mine- and me with his. Just like with any other type of relationship. Compatibility is key. Communicate early and often, toward the goal of finding a partner whose needs and desires mesh well with yours- and keeping that focus as the two of you grow and change.
In short: if I had a puppy, it'd be a lot like everything I already do anyway, with a slaveboy. Just, with an extra, added dimension of sweetness for us both.
