I'm always glad to see the end of excessively hot summers. Mild summers, not so much.

I love the end of summer.  Never did like the hot weather.  I love season changes, and Fall is my favorite season.  The breeze comes in, the air is clear, the leaves change colors, and it's cooler outside - yay for cooler.  And this means Thanksgiving (favorite holiday) and my birthday are around the corner.

I don't mind the 7 pm and it's dark as much as I hate the 7 am and it's still dark.

Every season has its perks. With Spring comes exciting tornado season. Summer is great for camping at the lake. Autumn brings relief from the heat and beautiful changing colors. Winter provides a break from outdoor insects.

I don't feel like we even had summer in the Pacific NW.  Rained all the way through July, had one nice week in September, and now I can look forward to six months of rain, and dark, and gloom.  Gee, I need a vacation.

I lived on Whidbey Island for 25 years. I remember one summer that was the first 2 days of August.  One January I had enough of the gloom and damp.  I'd met Gary and he had invited me to spend the winter with him in Arizona.  I quit my job and headed south.  Our friends fly down to spend a week or so in the winter just to remember that there IS a sun.

I used to love the fall when I lived in New England. The brilliant colors on the trees, the crisp fall air but when the leaves were gone everything turned gray.
And it got darker earlier. By the 21st of December it was dark at 3:45 pm. I used to wonder what time it got dark in Canada, 2:30 pm?
It's nice here in Myrtle Beach this time of year, in the 70's most of the time, you don't need heat or a/c and in December we get about an hour more sunlight than New England.

I look forward to the colder days, when one can wear rubber and pvc without sweltering :p

Getting up when it's dark and not getting out of work till it's dark sucks though.

I love it!  Fall is my favorite season & I don't mind at all that it gets dark so early!
