Channel 7 just cut off coverage and say they'll be back with more in the morning... sounds like they are being good for the cops ... very familiar pattern in Boston and NYC the past few days

And yeah Erie... I have spent the past two days there and had to return unfortunately to take my kids back from the ex. I never saw anybody donate money... food yeah, equipment yeah... water, yeah guys from carpentry crews even came in and moved tents to put all these insulated drop cloths. But ah Goldman and Sachs they musta been off with the Koch Brothers looking over the white hate posters the Tea Party will roll out this spring and then gutlessly refuse to own their deeds.
Hey I just got the Mayor's office 617-635-4500 and the Rose Kennedy Conservancy 617-292-0020.

mayor's number and the rose kennedy conservency

I see no trouble in knowing what the protests are about.  It's about the 1% controlling so much of the wealth and power in this country.  It is about an agreement the bankers made when they got the bailouts and then didn't live up to their end of the bargain.  It is about the fascism that has been permitted to undermine our democracy.  You seem bothered about the lack of leadership and demands.  I can understand that, you're not used to how a truly grass roots movement works, you are too used to the tea party-type movements in which the corporate heads dictate what should go on and where.

If you and your buddies want to learn a thing or two about sex you need to go look Obama up, but you had better bring a fat wad of cash or youll never make it through the front gate

SternSkipper -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 9:55:51 PM)

This message has just been posted to the BPD Community Service Site... looks basically like the 'notice' my friends were handed sans the specific threat:

http://www.bpdnews.com/2011/10/10/note-to-occupy_boston-the-boston-police-department-respects-your-right-to-protest-peacefully-we-ask-for-your-ongoing-cooperation/

The photo is the crowd that's gathered in the new parcel (200 is the estimate) the source is a cell phone photo less than an hour old

I think you will find more than a few Republicans in the demonstrations…I thought this was the people rebelling against wall street not just the left.

If these demonstrations are to have success they will need to represent all parties…they must be a cross section of America.

The political makeup of this country is close to 50 50...if this protest does not attract conservatives it will go nowhere.

If you think every liberal is on board then you really are in na na land... and if you can't convince all liberals and can't attract Republicans then how do you think you will succeed?

Butch

If you mean Ron Paul supporters, you can count em without switching to your toes...New york has maybe a healthy 5 - 10%.. your requirement that attract conservatives is proven dead wrong bey the mere existence of the tea party. What I am concerned with is whether it simply becomes a 'movement' within a party... there seems to be PLENTY of opposition to that idea right now.

kdsub -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 10:16:35 PM)

You are so naive in the way of politics... the strength...the backbone of American politics is the guy who will vote for a democrat one year and a republican the next... those that claim party affiliation...like you are a small minority...If you want to have an affect on America with these demonstrations you would be well advised not to claim the movement belongs to any one political party.

They've got the live feed elevated and working the focus of the camera is park #2

Looks as though the cops are either gone now, or the camera is pointed in the opposite direction that I think it is... trying to recognize a building

Actually Butch I don't think so... You said republicans... NOW you are talking about Independent Conservatives most likely who are NOT by definition 'republicans". Had you been correct in your terminology, you MIGHT have gotten agreement.. so please, spare me the 'naive' remarks I come from a political family and it's only been in my generation that the men in the family have chosen professions outside public service.
There are by the way a decent number of independent conservatives there. And in the coming election, they don't sound like they're voting republican. They sound like they no longer buy the bullshit they've been sold.

kdsub -> RE: Confrontation Looms In Boston... (10/10/2011 10:36:33 PM)

No more than you are claiming the number of liberal independents as Democrats... as I said if the country is divided 50 50 as most agree it is... then independent conservatives at any one time will consider themselves republican voters and must be included for you to have any true affect in your demonstrations.

Do you really think you can affect change with less then 50 percent of Americans as supporters? Believe me when the bills are passed on to the tax payers they will have a different opinion of you if they do not support you.

Butch

Show me where I claimed that!
You SAID republicans dude I merely set you straight on your illusory numbers or lack thereof and told what I observed FIRST HAND ON THE SCENE, something you apparently have NO KNOWLEDGE OF... you wanna talk shit? GO THERE  I a SURE there is an occupation within driving distance. Till then you are talking out your hat.

Really? That's funny. Class warfare has been an obvious central element of the Obama '12 strategy for quite some time. When was it that the Canadians who dreamed up OWS came up with the idea?

As far as that goes, they were co-opted before the first hippie clogged a toilet in a nearby business.
