Fantastic.
But I have the impression that from now on gays are going to check for breast cancer...

Plus, it made me check your profile and LOL ... literally, I mean.

If it helps ONE person...and males get breast cancer too, then I am supremely happy to have passed this around:)
I take it my amazing pics made you LOL?

Hi Lucy

I must admit, I'm a little grumbly about this stuff. While I wholeheartedly agree that we need more research in breast cancer, I think the science on self diagnosis has not shown it to be very useful- the rate of false positives is too high and it just leads to unnecessary fear and useless surgery. If a woman had a breast biopsy for every lump found, this might lead women to give up on the process as they get older and cancer becomes more of a probability. My guess, and its nothing more than that- is that this is a way to sell apps for a phone rather than a serious attempt to reduce breast cancer mortality. A far better use of dollars would be to fund better cancer diagnostics research,

Sam

Did not know that male people get breast cancer too. So... it helped at least one person. Me.
I LOL'ed actually on the text. And I went searching for
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch immediately.

the app is free, please feel free to check out the website.. donations appreciated but not required and for me, anything that gets the message out is better than nothing and these days they follow the broadest appeal, smartphone users.
my daughter knows how to do a self check, but many many of her friends have no idea even why its better to be safe than sorry.
Sorry Im going to respectfully disagree with you regarding the app.
I can definitely agree with you that more money needs to be used for diagnostics.
when one finds a lump... its a nightmare anyway.. better to know the differences that occur in your own breasts during a month than be ignorant and so many still are.
I get your point but I wouldnt stop any woman or man frm using the tips on a free app than see one person go thru losing a breast, or their life

What a great ad :D

I also encourage anyone who DOES find something suspicious to go for something MINIMAL diagnostically, a needle biopsy, done by a RADIOLOGIST, is cheaper and easier than an invasive procedure done by a SURGEON.
