Last time I was at a corn maze, they have plenty of people to help you if you get lost.

They had to bring out the K9 units. I guess simple hollering from 25 feet away wasn't enough.

How did people like this survive before cell phones?

What does this family do if someone wakes up and has to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night?

Leave the baby in the bathroom so they can follow it's screaming?

But wait, there might be walls in the way. That wouldn't work.

Maybe the diaper bag was in the car?

However the last corn maze I did was years ago and my son was about 14. Thank God he was there, because he had to lead me out. And the kid who was supposed to be at the front in case of trouble was nowhere to be found when we did get out. My memory was that it was in the shape of an eagle in flight and you went up and down the feather shafts.

Whenever I have seen one they have towers built up high, provide a big flag and a radio that groups can use if they get lost so they can be led out.

The one my kid had to rescue me from had none of that. It had a seat at the front where someone should have been so if you yelled for help, he could have come in and gotten you. But these are little family owned farms and not the big ones at the haunted house places.

I went to one a long time ago. Me and a friend got lost. He says, "man...we're so fucked. How are we gonna get out of here?. I don't wanna be here all night."

I kicked down one of the walls and said, "This way."

Haha that's great. I remember on an episode of Bones there was a body in a hay maze. When they got to the body everyone started arguing which way was out. So one guy pulls out his car keys, pressed the beeper button to make his car beep, and starts pushing over the hay bales in that direction.

And in this case it was corn... which you can push through if you really need to. Go straight and your out?

I read that story this morning.

My first question, was what kind of parent takes a 3 WEEK old baby into a corn maze?

Then I thought about working on the haunted hayride and remembered the parents that would come up to me and ask, "is it too scary for my 2 year old?"

It was always fun to say, "do you really want to know?" and when they said "yes," to give the kid the "look" and if they cried, tell the parents, "yep, too scary."

Yes, folks, I made children cry every night I worked that job. Most fun I ever had.

MissImmortalPain -> RE: Get lost in a corn maze? Call 911! (10/12/2011 12:33:03 PM)

hahahahahaha Heres a thought(if all else fails) Corn can be moved. It's not like it will attack people hahahahaha. The really horrid thought here is that people not smart enough to find their way out of a corn field went ahead to breed and pass their dna on to others.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Get lost in a corn maze? Call 911! (10/12/2011 12:36:36 PM)

On an ep of Bones, Brennan and Angel were in a maze, and needed a fast way out. He beeped his car, and just wallked through the hedge in the direction of the beep!

GreedyTop -> RE: Get lost in a corn maze? Call 911! (10/12/2011 12:37:45 PM)

psst.. Hibbie..already that ep was referenced LOL

loved that ep, btw....

"Just relax. Your husband is with you, right?" the dispatcher asked.
"Yes, but my baby!" the woman said.

the baby was probably asleep. =p

"We thought this could be fun. Instead it's a nightmare," the caller told the 911 operator.

if that's what they call a nightmare, they should consider themselves lucky. =p
