LadyPact -> The annual "how long did you make it" thread (10/13/2011 7:32:56 PM)

For those who don't know, we play this game every year around Halloween.  The premise is about how long the Halloween treats last in your house that you've bought for the trick or treaters that will be coming to the door come October 31.

Here are the rules if you want to play........

1.  The game is based on candy that you buy for the munchkins who will be ringing  your doorbell.

2.  Your time of 'how long it lasts' depends on the time period between when you make the purchase and the time you have a 'taste'.  It's not based on when the bag is empty.  You're time is up as soon as a piece of candy hits your mouth.

3.  If you bought candy that you hate just so you wouldn't eat it, you have to say so.

I'll start.  We bought our stash for the munchkins last Saturday.  I made it until Wednesday before I popped one of those bite sized Snickers.  Compared to last year, I caved pretty quick.

Who's next?

Wow you made it that long? Usually, I will have a piece as soon as I get home.

I won't be buying any candy this year at all, but I guess you have to get the candy to play, so I lose, lol.

well LP the bags that are sold in the stores that are typically intended to be bought for the UMs have been bought 2 diffrent times once i bought 2 bags and the second time was a bag of reeses butter cups. well that lasted till i got home both times and well me being prego and the factor i bought ones that not only i would eat but that My husband would get into too they were open and gone not long after that. I think with me being prego this year im disqualified from this game.

I made it to the grocery store parking lot. And I don't even get trick or treaters.

LOL
I used to , but the kids are grown and do their own thing now, so I usually spend time with hubby with the lights out and eat my own :)

Though I don't get trick or treaters on my dock, I do indulge in the candy corn. Bag's open the moment I get home.

TheFireWithinMe -> RE: The annual "how long did you make it" thread (10/15/2011 1:55:29 PM)

I don't normally buy Halloween stuff at least not til afterwards because kids don't come to my door. HOWEVER I'm feeling my competitive spirit awaken so purely for the sake of this thread I'mgoing to buy some.

LadyP can I blame you if/when I don't make it home without opening the bag? [8D]

You have to get the fall mix, with candy corn, pumpkins, cats and witches on broomsticks. With the good brands, they all taste different. : )

tempting me with candy is ....sooooo easy:) evil woman heheheh

dreamofthemoon -> RE: The annual "how long did you make it" thread (10/15/2011 4:33:22 PM)

i don't think we're giving out anything this year. Too little kids come around to really warrant it, unless mom has some stashed away for us all for later. i'd be content with no candy this year, truthfully. (i know, blasphemy on Halloween, tsk!) But we really really REALLY don't need any candy this year and the extra calories. [:'(] Gah!

MissImmortalPain -> RE: The annual "how long did you make it" thread (10/15/2011 4:43:18 PM)

We normally order candy that is just for the kids. Odd things like sour bags of blood, gummy fangs, skull shaped lolly pops. Than I go buy bags of "normal" candy ...snickers, reese's, m & m's for those at home so they will leave the ordered stuff alone. We normally spend the day before making bags of treats with different things in them. If the kids are someone we know and their parents won't mind they get bigger bags with cookies or other home made treats to go with the store bought stuff. The kids we don't know just get the store bought stuff(which normally has some sort of annoying toy in it) We got the "for the kids" stuff last week of last month and as far as I know none of the boys have been in it yet....maybe I should go look

Tantriqu -> RE: The annual "how long did you make it" thread (10/15/2011 4:47:39 PM)

Since Thursday: tick tock, tick tock . . .
Mini-Cadbury's [which appear to be currently calling my name from the cupboard] and three bags of assorted Coffee Crisps, Jersey Milks, Aeros [the latter of which also have a strange hold on many of my adults friends].
I deliberately buy the good stuff, because I remember with fondness a Dutch couple who imported special chocolate bars and distributed them only to those of us they recognised under makeup and masks.
I love the candy corn pumpkins [being plumper and softer than traditional cones], but haven't seen them yet . . .

Lucylastic -> RE: The annual "how long did you make it" thread (10/15/2011 4:55:20 PM)
