waterloverlol -> clothes pin question (10/14/2011 10:19:31 PM)

I was reading you should stretch the springs of them before uing them on someone, is this right?

LillyBoPeep -> RE: clothes pin question (10/14/2011 11:21:14 PM)

you don't have to. but if they're too bitey, you can do that so that they aren't soooo bitey.

DeviantlyD -> RE: clothes pin question (10/15/2011 12:40:28 AM)

*blink* Stretch the springs? I'd never heard of that. But I guess, as LillyBoPeep has stated, you would want to do so to make it easier to bear, if you aren't into the pain of it. Personally I don't find they have enough bite. :)

Endivius -> RE: clothes pin question (10/15/2011 5:41:30 AM)

The whole point of them is to be irritating and painfull. Why would I want it to be anything else?

LillyBoPeep -> RE: clothes pin question (10/15/2011 5:58:54 AM)

you may not, but the OP just might.

Ditto lol - pegs are ok, you get the odd strong type (usually the plastic ones have the stronger springs)

Never heard of stretching the springs, an easy way to adust how much they bite is to adjust how much skin they're gripping, the less the more painy.

(PS if they are well received clover clamps are wonderful :-P )

If you are looking for clothes pins with some extra bite see if you have an ACE Hardware store near you. They carry a brand of plastic clothes pins where the faces of the jaws are a sort of molded waffle patter instead of solid. Good initial bite, and then the skin starts to swell a bit and fill in the waffling so it take quite a bit more to pull them off. Nice for zippers.

Clothespins in this house are used to close chips bags and that's it. I've never been able to tolerate any of them. You all are all nuts.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: clothes pin question (10/15/2011 6:26:48 PM)

i like clothespins because they aren't initially all that terrible but they become more and more ouchy over time. they're fun. :)

there are these plastic jaw clamps you can get in the hardware store... we found that those would take my skin off if you weren't careful. hahaha

Take wooden clothes pins and make them bite as fat a book as they can and then just leave them there for a week or two. It lightens the bite.

I believe the book SM 101 by Jay Wiseman had an area on controlling how much clamps can bite down. Reading can be fun. [;)]

Rubber tipped clamps I used on my sub slip off too easily and no longer pinch enough, so we sent off for clovers. These bit too hard until he adjusted them with some needle nosed pliers.

Dito, I just don't like pinching one bit.

Ahhhh, clothespins are for wimps. Head on down to Bondage Depot and pick up some spring loaded clamps of the 5 or 10 pound variety.
Those suckers will leave her howling.

^^ we had the plastic ones ( http://www.pjtool.com/412inplasticspringclamps.aspx ). they'd take my skin with them, which he didn't like, so we didn't use them often.

You have a sick twisted mind, Hannah...marry me?

bostondom55 -> RE: clothes pin question (10/21/2011 3:18:13 PM)

I have clipped clothespins jaw to jaw to try to stretch the springs a bit, but spring metal is pretty resilient. With enough time it seems to lessen about 20% of the pinch on a regular full size clothespin. The clips that are adjustable are handy, especially if used on smaller or larger nipples

MasterDonfromPA -> RE: clothes pin question (10/21/2011 3:26:12 PM)

I found a simple short term fix is with rubber bands, if you want them to bite less put the rubber bands around the back of the clip, if you want MORE bite, rubber bands at the jaws, Works for the short term fix

hausboy -> RE: clothes pin question (10/21/2011 3:57:57 PM)

Trick of the trade:
test it out on yourself--preferably the body part you plan to place it on, but if you can't/aren't willing to do that...place the clothespin on the spot in between your thumb and forefinger to give you an idea of how hard it "bites".  I've never had a problem with clothespin--the only time they made me pay attention was when they were connected as a zipper.

MistressLilliana -> RE: clothes pin question (10/22/2011 5:28:15 PM)

Depends on the person you're using them on. If it's too painful then stretch the springs to loosen the gripping power..they just might like that much pain so test it first.
