Lol, do not blink or turn around when you put your children in the crib for the first time, for when you turn back the are leaving home. My oldest daughter turns 30 this year(i an only 44 i started early, can you say Irish Druid from West Virginia?) My oldest grandson is 10, ouch!

In my home I am surrounded by pictures of my two sons. Skiing trips, vacations, grade school photos, you name it, I've taken a picture of it. I look at them constantly and I miss them soooooo much, their youthful innocence that is.
Now, I'm looking at teenager's with piercings, goth clothing, tattoos and a mind of their own. Don't get me wrong here, I am completely cool with their individuality, but damn I miss the little guys in the photos.....It seems like such a short time ago that I was coloring Easter eggs with them...and now I'm looking at two more years and they are both grown and gone. Two more years, which will fly by like the blink of an eye.......Damn time flies!
Old crusty Fart, Kevin

It certainly does.........and sometimes you get to rewind it...LOL

My oldest is 21 and I look back at what a sweet little kid she was and the joys of watching her learn things for the first time.....I miss those days.  My 15 yr old, well she is and always will be a "pistol", my ME that my mother warned me about  LOL

Now at age 43 what the hell am I doing.......reliving all those joyous times with a 6 yr old and a 4 yr old....WTF was I thinking  LOL

But remember this, when your boys marry and have kids........you get to spoil them and send them back to mom and dad....ain't revenge great  ROFL

Dayum Twice...you did start early. However, I bet it's really cool now that you are close in age as compared to other mother/daughter combos. I'm sure you have much in common.
I usually try to make you all laugh and now I have you all sniffling.....sorry!
Feastie, I can relate so well to what you said. My youngest would still climb into bed with me when he was 13. Not all the time, but once in awhile, and he'd snuggle up with me and I'd just look at him and know that I really need to love and appreciate the moment, because it was about to end very, very, soon.
The song Cats in the Cradle....really sums up well what we are saying about this topic and is one of my favorites, to this day.
I was fortuneate in the fact that I wrote down a lot of  the amusing things my children did and said and was able to have it published as a book. I'm not trying some shameless self promotion now, but you can read some excerpts if your interesed here
