Ok, let me break it down for you into small pieces:

1.  Owner posts a humorous link about "the 1%".  He made no comments, just posting it for general entertainment and humor, that made a point.  He did not defend any specific part of any of the points made by the comedian, although I'm sure that - in general, if not in specific detail - that the comedic tone of the piece held some "truth".

2.  I thought his piece was pretty funny as well, but that it forgot part of "the 1%".  Serendipitously, I had just left a web site which had the "Obama as a 1%er" graphic.  I posted it, but had as much interest in defending the specifics as Owner did on defending the specifics of all of points made in the piece that he linked to as well.

In other words, I did not and was not interested in defending any specific part of any of the points made by the comedic graphic, although I'm sure that - in general, if not specific detail - that the comedic tone of piece held some "truth".

3.  Imp apparently misunderstood and believed that I had personally created the piece, and took exception to some of the specifics on the graphic.

4.  I explained to her that I wasn't arguing for the specific "truth" of each of the individual points, that I was just "giving" Owner another example of "the 1%" that he could add to the video list that he had already posted.

5.  You accuse me of "failure to check the facts" and "backing down", which is off-center from what actually happened, and incorrect, although I very well could make the argument (as I said), but I was not interested in doing so, because it is at odds with the initial tone and focus of the humorous intent of the thread.

6. Just FYI, while Owner and I are on extreme opposite ends of the political spectrum, we both have fun riffing off of each other in such threads.  Sometimes he does it to me; sometimes I do it to him.  Neither of us get out of sorts about it, nor engage in vicious ad hominem attacks because of it.

7.  If you wish to open a discussion about whether Obama "held a real job" prior to his election, feel free to do so.  I may or may not participate, but if I did, I believe I would take the position that he didn't, and can back up my belief with a strong argument.  But .. truthfully, it has crap-all to do with the direct, actual thread content, and therefore I wasn't interested in engaging into that specific discussion: He was elected and he is our President, so his performance in that position is more important than his history of employment elsewhere.
