Again, that is a lie. But your embatrrassment is totally understandable... [:D]

The most optimistic sources, the organizers themselves, exaggerate that the crowd size was around 5000 (as per the OP of this thread).

Thats not a lot of people for New York. No wonder you feel youve got to lie about it, or exaggerate like crazy.
You must be really embarrassed

The head count was 20k per the New York Times... Tell Me Genius... How many times did the tea party excluding that grandiose rock concert that cost $40,000,000 in DC and didn't crack a million after 3 Goddamned Months of Hype, but how many times did your precious Tea Party top, or for that matter even come close to 20k ... I know the answer BTW so answer carefully
And while you're mulling it over .. tell this kid about what a nice guy you are

Get out from under your bridge once in a while and youll find out all about cars and airplanes and all kinds of things that provide something civilized people call "transportation"

Yawns,,,,,your pathetic

Sanity -> RE: 20,000 in new york OWS (10/16/2011 7:14:53 PM)

[:D] No, Im an asshole. Youre pathetic.

Especially if you honestly believe that less than 5000 is a good turnout for New York...

tazzygirl -> RE: 20,000 in new york OWS (10/16/2011 8:30:14 PM)

The article in the OP said at least 5000.

I have seen reports that place it between 10,000 and 20,000.

Now, considering Times Square at New Years can hold 1 million people, that picture looks awfully crowded for only 5000.

Sanity -> RE: 20,000 in new york OWS (10/16/2011 8:50:15 PM)

Get real! [:D]

5000 is very optimistic for the crowd pictured, you can count the individual people in it.

Somebody's never been to time square before... I've been there in person at the times when it's full and spanning the area we're looking at holds about100k when it's jampacked ... to get the full 250k you have to add two blocks ate the far end.... 5k wouldn't fill 1/3 of what we are looking at. Ask Fargle... he's very good at estimating how many people are in a concert venue... along with the exact distance to the snack bar.
But I promise you, by the time your monday morning 'Don't shit you pants folks" Foxtimate comes out, it'll be less than 10 people and of them 8 will be Iranian.

SternSkipper -> RE: 20,000 in new york OWS (10/16/2011 10:37:42 PM)

Talk to the hand ... Failing that better listen to a well regarded conservative talk show in the Boston area says concerning their interview... WABC From Wednesday Morning, a day after Camp2 was torn out.
Our style up here is different... Maintain 200 heads camping at all times and swell to whatever.. Several thouand day timers swelling to as much as 10k this last weekend.
Bottom line? The Colostomy Baggers couldn't do HALF of what we do by word of mouth alone and the certainly couldn't sustain what little they could throw together.
Anyway, here's two radio people who are usually pretty good at ripping liberals to shreds not not able to get much 'red meat'

Doesnt matter how big of a blowhard you are, the organizers own estimate stands at 5000.

farglebargle -> RE: 5,000 in new york OWS (10/17/2011 5:16:42 AM)

Looks to me from the pictures that the number of people #OccupyTimesSquare was the maximum number which could fit in the space allotted by the fucking pigs. ( Didn't they open up ALL of Times Square as a pedestrian plaza??? ) , so whether it's 5, 10, 20, or even 2, you can't deny that Times Square was full.

And filling times square counts as a win in anyone's book.

Of course, I'm biased, given that #OTS was my idea on Thursday night on the IRC channel...

sanity's problem is he can't argue the issue so he runs with a piece of a story that he might have a chance with. he's pathetic

While I post news articles that put your spin to bed, you call names... but I cant argue the issue... [:D]

A member of the Occupy Wall St movement walks over a U.S. flag on that lies on the ground in Zuccotti Park near the financial district of New York October 13, 2011. New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, who called for the protesters to leave briefly on Friday so the park could be cleaned, has indicated he expects the area to clear out once the real cold sets in. More yellow journalism, that is not an american flag.

farglebargle -> RE: 20,000 in new york OWS (10/17/2011 6:51:58 AM)

That's an American Flag OWNED BY THE PROTESTER.

Maybe you believe you're entitled to tell that free American what he should do with his own property?

mnottertail -> RE: 20,000 in new york OWS (10/17/2011 7:10:25 AM)

12 stripes, 6 of which are white and 6 of which are red do not an american flag make.

Saw that right off.

And it seems to me that like England's Sir Walter Raleigh laying a cloak to be trod upon in his country, the United States of America has a long tradition of not arresting anyone for walking over rags of cloth.

It is not exactly spelled out in our constitution in that manner, but it does seem to be a fairly standard and common non-occurance.

Sanity -> RE: 20,000 in new york OWS (10/17/2011 7:29:46 AM)

Try again... hint - no one told anyone to do anything

Aerosmith draws a lot more than 5000 people when they play Nampa, Idaho. The Idaho Pavilion in Nampa holds over twice that many...

For New York, with a population of narly eight and a half million people, a turnout of 5000 is nothing
