MODS: please forgive, but I thought the was worth cross-posting, since a good number of folks avoid P&R, and I felt this was worth sharing...

Oh God this is good news indeed. I just hope that they can do it safely. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it actually happens.

I hope they are home soon.  What blows my mind is, 5 years ago I asked a friends hubby who is a colonel and was stationed over there at the time, when he thought they were coming home.  He said all exit plans were being made for 2011.  I remember thinking then, no way can it take that long.

Damn, time flies doesn't it?

A friend's son is in the military. A few years ago they told him he was leaving Iraq. He was...but they sent him to Afghanistan. My fear is the same for these soldiers....leaving Iraq but not to come home.

Hurray! One less money draining, soul destroying war. I wonder how long it will take for yet another military dictatorship to take over Iraq, and whether it will be secular or religious. But I don't care, too many Americans have died for nothing.
