I said he wasn't intellectually smart, not that he wasn't smart in other ways. He's worldly wise and has a keen instinct and yes, he knows how to make a woman feel she is the only woman in the world when he puts his mind to it or at least, that is what I've been told by women who know him.

Good for him...  I bet you he does better in relationships or is a lot better at attracting relationships than most bookworms/intellectuals who aren't smart worldly wise to know how to take the time/effort to woo/court a lady, lol.   M

So, what do you think?

How many centuries went past where the male was in 'charge' of hunting and gathering food, while the females were in 'charge' or rearing the children, at least until they came of age, then the male children were taught to hunt and gather and the women were taught to cook and what not?

I still think that feminism was created just to have another reason to divide people further, instead of helping everyone out to move forward, but I'm usually labeled as chauvenistic for that opinion.

All in all, though, since the term 'golddigging' is applied to more women than men, I'd say more women are interested in being financially secure than men are, in terms of finding a relationship.  In terms of money in general, men are generally more success driven, but not always.  But that's just how I see it. *wandering away, knuckles dragging on the carpet*

Women have been conditioned to think that they need a man to provide for them and the more he can provide the better. I know my own Mother would always say  "When you grow up and get married your husband should be able to support you comfortably."  It was my Father who would interject and say "Baby go to school, get yourself a good job and take care of yourself. Never be dependent upon another person to take care of you." I followed Dad's advice and am soooo glad that I did. Because I know it gives women a freedom of choice as to how their lives will go. But the mental conditioning of "I need a rich guy" still prevails in our society.
Most men are conditioned to be providers and some have a problem with women who have/make more money than they do. Although I do not understand this thinking, I do know that it exists. Alot of men however dont mind a woman who makes as much, or more than they do. It just means more income for the two of them if they should get legally entangled (married)
Financial dependency is the key reason alot of women stay in bad relationships, they are unable to provide for themselves and their offspring, so they are dependent upon the male for this. I've seen women who have been mentally and physically abused stay with a guy just because he has a job and pays the bills. I ask them, Is it really worth it? How about getting some education and a job of your own so you don't have to depend upon this asshole for money?
I personally have raised my daughter to think for herself. I never say "when you get married your husband..." I say "When you get older and can support yourself...." I want her to know that she doesn't need a man in her life to validate her existence nor depend upon him for financial support. I want her to be fully independent and if she meets a guy and falls in love, if he has money that doesn't hurt. But to be independent that to me means more then $$$ in the bank.

Are women really "hardwired" to prefer men who can be "providers"?  Do men prefer to be the financially/professionally more established partner?

Hey i am honest... i would prefer it...
