ORIGINAL: Hisprettybaby Once again, I'm tackling more than one here because I only want to post once. quote:
ORIGINAL: NocturnalStalker You just spent an entire topic defending the hardships of fat people and now you're mocking someone's sexuality by calling them gay. Listen, HE is the one who said: quote:
ORIGINAL: hotlikeafox Say what you want, but when I've tried to get girls I know personally to come to bsdm clubs they all say the same things. The guys there are faggots and the girls are fatties in goth clothing. And they are right. So he just as much as said he's gay. He said he agreed with the girls who say that and he obviously goes to those clubs, or else why would he want THEM to go? I have absolutely nothing against gay people. I have multiple good friends that are either gay men or lesbians and I have no problems with that. quote:
ORIGINAL: alexislave4u Lets face it. Almost everyone who responded to this thing is over 40 from looks of it. They say looks fade and all that. Maybe its common middle aged women look past it all. quote:
ORIGINAL: alexislave4u It is kinda gross. I mean who wants to see stretch marks, cellulite, etc? Yes, most of us women over 40 do look past it when seeing all the fat men over 40. But, from the sounds of this thread, most fat men over 40 don't look past it regarding women in their own age group. As for stretch marks and cellulite being gross, yeah, nobody wants to see it, but you had better hope to God/dess or whatever the hell you might believe in that you never have a baby or get any older than you are right now. Because, if you do either, you will be eating your words. quote:
ORIGINAL: OICU8Master no man bothers to speculate at the motivations of overweight men because there has been no observation that a disproportionate number of overweight men are drawn to the BDSM lifestyle. Far from it, I've noticed fewer overweight men at the munches and events I've been to than is the norm and far MORE overweight women than is the norm. Like any good scientific analysis, the question isn't based upon bias, it's based upon observable, measurable FACT. You mean YOU haven't observed a disproportionate number of overweight men at these functions. Just how often do you check out the men at these functions, paying attention to how attractive they are and so on? Probably not very often, since you're looking for submissive women, not men. I see plenty of fat men at BDSM functions AND I see plenty of fat men on here and on Fetlife both. I'm a switch and now I have a Dom, but I haven't always had one, so I've looked at men on BOTH sides of the kneel and, yeah, there are fat male subs AND fat male Dominants. And plenty of them. So you're contending that the vast majority of people drawn to BDSM period are overweight? I, personally, haven't observed that at all.( I don't know why you think I have to be "checking someone out" to notice if they're overweight or not. I cannot help but SEE with my own eyes when I meet someone whether they are overweight or not). But if what you say is true, then that's an interesting observation as well. Any idea why a disproportionate amount of overweight people are drawn to BDSM? EDIT: counted out 100 personals at TSR that had their BMI listed. 40 had BMI's over 30, which is obese. The national average for obesity is 26%. So there are a disproportionate number of obese women listed on TSR. However, in an odd quirk, there are only 20% of the women listed with BMI's between 25-29.9 ie, overweight, but not obese. This means that overall, there are LESS overweight women represented on TSR (60% compared to the national average of 63%), but more obese women represented (40% compared to the national average of 25%). 15% of the women on TSR were underweight, but I don't have the national average for underweight women readily at hand. I'm going to redefine the search parameters to look for men and see what I come up with. Men, on the national average are slightly more likely to be obese than women (27% to 25%) SECOND EDIT: Only 12% of the men listed on TSR were obese compared to the national average of 27%. 32% were overweight. Of those, many were barely overweight with BMI's of 25.1-.25.5. This compared to the national average of 38% overweight, but not obese. So men on TSR who are overweight/obese are 44%, well below the norm of 63%. Obese men are WAY below the norm and obese women are WAY over the norm. That coincides with my own personal observations. The question remains: why is that true? What does it mean? I don't pretend to know, but I find it interesting to wonder why. btw, my own BMI? Crawling up to 29.3 I better start eating more fruits and vegetables!
