ColeYote -> Should I be concerned? (10/21/2011 9:39:43 PM)

I suppose this question relates to sexuality in general rather than specifically BDSM, but on the other hand I think BDSM's a pretty large component of my sexuality. Whatever, though, it doesn't really matter. Yeah, so I'm a virgin. In spite of this, I could easily be addicted to sex. I've taken a test or two from various websites (run by actual psychologists, not quizfarm or anything), they're saying there's a damn good chance I am. I have no idea how that's possible without actually having had sex, but considering how horny I am ALL THE TIME, I don't disagree. Could this potentially be a problem?

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/21/2011 9:41:08 PM)

You have to do something to be addicted to it.

tolovetolaugh -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/21/2011 9:41:24 PM)

Your an 18 yo male.
It sounds about normal.
I don't think it is anything to be concerned about, you are most likely fixating on it even more because you haven't had it yet.
Just be careful to not scare off the wimmins by fixating on it in front of them.

Well, do you masturbate? That's having solo sex with yourself. Some people are addicted to that..... I suppose if it interferes with the rest of your life in anyway, it could be a problem. [8|]

Endivius -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/21/2011 9:47:21 PM)

Male....check
Teen....Check

Your normal.

When I was 18 I masterbated 8-10 times a day and still had sex with girls. There's nothing wrong with you. News flash, most people who have sex, are addicted to it. Regardless of your gender preference.

Edit cause I can.

HannahLynn -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/21/2011 9:55:50 PM)

your 18 and a virgin? yea, you got some sort of fucking problem going on. try oxy, i hear it works fucking wonders.

LafayetteLady -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/21/2011 9:59:45 PM)

At 18, a linoleum floor could make you horny.

littlewonder -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/21/2011 10:14:21 PM)

I'm thinking being that  you're a virgin AND 18 that it's something you concentrate on more than other things. Once you get laid and get older that will change...then comes bills, family, jobs, school, hiding the mistress from the wife......

Dreamless -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/21/2011 10:21:15 PM)

I saw the title and I admit I just came in here to post "yes".

But seriously, man. Unless you're fucking everything with a hole in it, or your thoughts about sex are crowding out the rest of your life, well... you're probably fine. You're 18. When I was 18 I could've been addicted to sex even though I was a virgin. But you really can't be addicted to it unless you're doing it. And well, you're probably smart enough to figure whether you're addicted to masturbating or not. Are you sneaking away from your responsibilities to do it? Can you take care of your life as per standards? ARE YOUR HANDS IN YOUR PANTS RIGHT NOW?

Don't worry. Once you get laid it'll get better. ;)

Winterapple -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/21/2011 10:52:41 PM)

You're a normal young male.
It would be odd if you weren't
horny most of the time.

myotherself -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/22/2011 12:09:56 AM)

I work with teenage boys.

All they think about is sex.

All they talk about is sex.

I would say that at 18 and a virgin, you are probably lagging a bit behind them. And they aren't sex addicts.

But then again, they don't do online tests and diagnose themselves as being addicted to something they've only ever just thought about [8|]

ColeYote -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/22/2011 12:44:05 AM)

So the consensus seems to be a resounding "no, not cause for concern." Yay.

Eh, who knows, there's still chance my sex drive doesn't cool down and I wind up hypersexual. I have a gut feeling that's going to happen, but I have no idea why. As long as it doesn't interfere with the rest of life it shouldn't be a problem, though.

Ninebelowzero -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/22/2011 2:17:18 AM)

I'm 46 yrs old.

All I think about is sex, I don't talk about it because I'm too busy thinking about sex.

Have I got a problem?

Because you seem determined to make it happen. It's normal for a male in his teens and early 20's to be uber horny. Just go with it. IF it becomes a problem, just deal with it. But, for the love of God stop over analyzing.

anniezz338 -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/22/2011 9:27:14 AM)

Young males your age get hard when the wind blows. Normal.

ProlificNeeds -> RE: Should I be concerned? (10/22/2011 11:43:48 AM)

FR to the OP:

Being addicted to sex comes from under lying issues with physical contact and need for physical reassurance, not from horniess exactly. Sort of like how a depressed person cuts themselves. They don't cut because they like to cut, they cut to create physical pain that can distract them from emotional pain. (Not to be confused with auto masochists who just like pain and are infact not chronically depressed at all.)

Being a douchebag about your sexual urges doesn't make you an addict it just makes you a twit.

For the next five to ten years (maybe longer depending on your ability to grow up) you'll be lead through life by your cock. I'd suggest getting it wet, but savoring that experience, not just glutting for the sake of trying to have a problem before it even occures.

Sad but true, I think many girls would be amazed how hard to is not to look hard in public.

High level of testosterone, 18 years old, you may be very active sexually (now alone, later with people). As long as you practice safe sex, nothing to worry about.
It will become an addiction only if the rest of your life starts to crumble as effect of it. This is in the definition of psychological addictions, and sex cannot provoke any other kind of (is not a drug).
Try to use your sexual desire as a tool to motivate yourself on doing constructive thing which, yes, will provoke admiration and make you more appealing. This is how most modern music stars began. Works for almost all branches (World of Warcraft... nope, 30th Level Virgin is not appealing).
