Main Entry: be·loved Pronunciation: bi-'l&vd, -'l&-v&d Function: adjective Etymology: Middle English, from past participle of beloven to love, from be- + loven to love : dearly loved : dear to the heart - beloved noun 1 a : a person in love; especially : a man in love with a woman b plural : two persons in love with each other 2 : an affectionate or benevolent friend 3 : DEVOTEE 4 a : PARAMOUR b : a person with whom one has sexual relations We all know that love is often one-sided and that some dominants do not feel the need to love their submissive, but that their submissive should love them. Personally, I prefer to each to be both Lover and Beloved.
