"The Amber Chronicles" and all of the short stories he ever wrote, especially "Now For a Breath I Tarry" and "Engine at Heartspring's Center" by Roger Zelazny. He's the man that made me love sci-fi and fantasy at a young age, a"nd I've been able to grow up with his works. They never get old, just more complex each time you read them. "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. Changes your perspective quite a bit. "Anthem" by Ayn Rand. Ditto. "Animal Farm" by George Orwell. It only takes an hour or so. Everyone deserves to read it at some point. "Villette" by Charlotte Bronte. So sweet. So good. I have a weakness for period pieces. Not specifically BDSM related, but definitely a great read to better understand female sexuality is "Forbidden Flowers" and "My Secret Garden" by Nancy Friday. It looks like a flowery romance novel, and it's really not. It's a book of real women's sexual fantasies ranging from mundane to very out-there, complete with background and possible reasons for their specific fantasies. It's actually eye-opening to know that some of your darkest fantasies are normal.
