Toppingfrmbottom -> how do I make the motion sensor light stay on till I turn it off? (10/23/2011 9:31:37 PM)

It can be turned on from inside by a lightswitch, but it won't stay on, They're made to look like those old fashioned street lamps, and it's got a switch with three positions, but it seems so far none of them will make it stay on till I turn it off, which is frustrating cause Daddy is being driven home tonight by someone who's un familar with our street , and at 11-12 pm it's very dark on our street, and I thought it would be polite to turn the driveway light on for them.

It works here by flicking the light on a couple of times quickly. (with the switch) Try that and let me know if it works.

Or you could try this, I guess...[:-]  http://www.ehow.com/how_5565849_make-outdoor-motion-lights-stay.html

blushes I googled how to make them stay on but the articles were all for a different brand than ours. they're talking about this kind, and ours look like old fashioned torch light cases.

I guess that method is out for me cause I don't have the user manuel, and I don't have any one to climb up a later and fuck with it for me lol.

Check your manual to determine if your light has dusk to dawn operation, Place a ladder on a firm surface directly below the outdoor motion light you wish to adjust to remain on. Have an assistant hold the ladder steady.

Well...if you were a good girl, you'd go outside with a bunch of birthday candles and light them and wait for daddy to get home. (just ignore the drippage, think of all the things you can get away with without fingerprints!!) Then you could run alongside his car and light the way.

I can also keep running into the house every 10 minutes starting at the time he said he may be home and keep manually goosing the light too![:D]

The candles sound much funner.

Yep. Funner.

Tie a pet to a post out front and let them do all the work.

tolovetolaugh That would be fun but we don't have any pets and I'd hate to go have to pet nap someones pet[:D]

stef -> RE: how do I make the motion sensor light stay on till I turn it off? (10/23/2011 10:28:40 PM)

Stand outside and bang your head against the post every 30 seconds or so.  The movement will keep the light on.

blushes I could try my hand at forbidding daddy from being out till 11- or midnight or later, think that would work* cheeky grin*

That's what I was thinking. He IS going to be in the car, so he can give directions. When they stop in front of the house and he gets out, the light goes on. Problem solved.

I should hope so! I just thought it'd be polite for me to turn the light to be on, I left the kitchen light on though.
