What a radical idea.  So radical that Ronnie Raygun thought it was a swell idea, too.

willbeurdaddy -> RE: Cutting tax loopholes for the rich (10/24/2011 9:43:44 AM)

And they have been closed, thats why the proportion of taxes paid by the wealthy have increased almost monotonically since Reagan despite the decreases in rates. So whats your point?

The Name is Reagan.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Cutting tax loopholes for the rich (10/24/2011 12:45:56 PM)

Willbeur, the point is, when Raygun talked about eliminating tax loopholes for the "truly wealthy" to get them to pay their fair share, the right considered that pure genius.  Even  the junior high class old Ronnie was talking to knew that it was fundamentally unfair for a "millionaire" to pay nothing, while a bus driver paid 10%.  Obama says the same thing,  because the situation really has not changed (except you can replace "millionaires" with the word "billionaires") and he is stifling job creation and racing the country head long to socialism.  Astounding.
Tazzy, thanks for the information, but he will always be Raygun to me, I hated the motherfucker, may he rot in hell forever.  However, I will make you a deal.  You get the right wingers on here (don't know if you are one or not) to uses "Obama" not "Obummer, or Odumma, or whatever variation on the name they think is clever that day, and I will forever refer to Raygun as "Reagan" on these boards.  K?  K.
I don't know why the hypocrisy on the right continues to astonish me, but it does.

Bullshit,I could spend some time backing that up.....but the above is such a bald faced lie there is no necessity to do so.
Allow me to repeat......BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!

slvemike4u -> RE: Cutting tax loopholes for the rich (10/24/2011 1:18:09 PM)

Tazzy isn't of the "right".... But she is one of the few posters who goes thru the trouble of pointing out just how childish that whole "Oblunder" bullshit is.Rich(heretic) is also on record having asked the childish amongst us to show some respect for the office,if not the occupant.
I echo all of those sentiments...any man who has risen to the point where he sits(figuratively speaking) at the same desk as Washington,Jefferson ,Lincoln and Truman deserves some respect.

Im more left of center. Rich is more right. And we both have stated, repeatedly, just how schoolish the name calling is for a bunch of grown adults.

"Ronald Reagan was a tyrant, without a single ball in his nut sack"

I have no problem with that. But, for pete's sake, people need to act like they can spell.

Because you dont know who is right and who is left?

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Cutting tax loopholes for the rich (10/24/2011 5:16:58 PM)

I wasn't referring to you, tazzy darlin'.  I think I said in my post I wasn't sure if you were right or left.

But OK.  Ronald REAGAN was a reptilian motherfucker who started us down the road we are on now.

Can I still make fun  of Nancy?

slvemike4u -> RE: Cutting tax loopholes for the rich (10/24/2011 5:35:53 PM)

What possible material could you use to make fun of Nancy [8|] ?

The difference is there are no longer any significant loopholes, theyve already been closed. Whats left is tax preferences such as the mortgage deduction and capital gains, items that benefit far more than the wealthy.

slvemike4u -> RE: Cutting tax loopholes for the rich (10/24/2011 6:17:56 PM)

Again I will say BULLSHIT....and once again state that this is such a bald faced lie it does not deserve any effort on my part to refute it....it is false on it's face.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Cutting tax loopholes for the rich (10/24/2011 6:37:03 PM)

Bullshit is right.  Like I said, the hypocrisy of the right . . .

In all honesty, and this is simply my opinion, there is no benefit of making fun of the First Lady, regardless of the politics. The moment they are elected, or running for an office, then they are fair game.

I always thought Nancy, Laura and Barbara were graceful women. Michelle is extremely likable. Hillary has brass balls... lol... I like that about her.

But, again, you may say what you want about them, but show some dignity for yourself if not for them and use their proper names. Terms like "Oblunder" and "chimp" make me cringe and I really dont want to read the rest of the post.

For example, to me, Palin is a twit... but you will never see me use any form of her name beyond Palin to identify her.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Cutting tax loopholes for the rich (10/24/2011 10:56:50 PM)

No guarantees. So, you are basically campaigning to get everyone on the boards to quit using demeaning nicknames for presidents? Interesting. That must be like pissing in the wind.

tazzygirl -> RE: Cutting tax loopholes for the rich (10/24/2011 11:32:45 PM)

Of course it is.... but I am determined to try... and have been for a while now. [:D]

I see no reason why adults cant talk like adults.

OrionTheWolf -> RE: Cutting tax loopholes for the rich (10/25/2011 3:32:11 AM)

"The top tax bracket for U.S. corporations stands at 35 percent, one of the highest rates in the world. So how is it possible that a giant of American business, General Electric, paid nothing in federal taxes last year, even as it made billions in profit? "

This particular tax break, known as the carried-interest loophole, allows hedge fund managers to treat the money they receive from investors as capital gains, subject to a 15 percent tax rate.

This is just two, I can keep doing a search and finding more if need be.

You are a much more patient man than I Orion....I just called him on his bullshit and left it at that....lol.

ArizonaBossMan -> RE: Cutting tax loopholes for the rich (10/25/2011 5:54:38 AM)

I'd much rather see a flat fair tax where MORE people pay something. How fair is it that the majority of Americans pay NO taxes? I'm talking about the so called poor. Everybody ought to pay something. Make the freaking "poor" feel the pain I feel in paying taxes that I know will be wasted.

And there we have it!
share the pain
not the wealth
Amazing philosophy.
I dont know what we would do without you ABM[8|]
