This is going to be more common, and if the enlistment numbers don't start coming up, then these numbers of tours is going to be a lot higher.

Perhaps the republicans AND democrats should consider reinstating the draft.

"Combat deployments" aren't the same for Ranger Bats as they are for the rest of the Army.

Perhaps we should just end these wars so we do not have to force kids into doing something against their will.

I am truly sorry we lost another soldier and truly sorry for his family, but he knew the risks he was taking when he he volunatrily enlisted.

You are suggesting we should press people into service involuntarily to ease the burden on those who knowingly volunteered?

Doesn't quite make sense to me.

Thompson the other side of that argument is that were there to be a reinstatement of the draft( and I am by no means suggesting that there be one) the populace in general would be more invested in not allowing our leaders to involve us in wars based on flimsy reasoning or outright lies.To take that even further, and just because I wam a wiseass....any such draft should include a provision that the sons and daughters of Congressman and Senators should be the first called[:)]
Just a thought.

If that is true, then why are they paying reservists to cut their tours short? And why are they making the rules for enlistment stricter? Something doesn't add up.
