For those who can’t watch clips online, Warren, after explaining some of the reasons for the nation’s deep fiscal hole, pointed to a more sensible approach to economic policy in general. “I hear all this, you know, ‘Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever,’” she said. “No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody.

“You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear: you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for; you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate; you were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did.

“Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea? God bless. Keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.”

It is nice when you find someone who actually will speak the truth and knows from what she is talking about.

It's not so nice, however, when someone believes that everything they agree with is the truth and anything else is either stupid or a lie.

K.

Warren is a fucking moron... Everyone, including the owner of the plant pays the same taxes she's whining about, plus the owner pays property taxes on the factory itself.

provfivetine -> RE: Class warfare, Elizabeth Warren style (10/25/2011 1:01:22 PM)

Haha. Elizabeth Warren. This women is a joke. Everyone on campus knows it. No one respects her. She won't debate anyone because every time she does, she gets wrecked. This women is clueless.

It's amazing how she is rallying with the OWS crowd. If the OWS crowd knew her past then she would be thrown to the gutter faster than Rush Limbaugh.

Who do you think chaired the committee that oversaw the implementation of TARP?

"I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do."

Oh please...

He's talking shit about OWS in Boston... and that's where he CLAIMS to be from. I'm going to presume his Warren nonsense is just that ... I haven't heard of her BEING on campus in the past few years except to speak. I could be wrong about that. But fact is. there's been very little contact between Warren and Occupy Boston, except to send a few 'young people' dow to see if our media team needed 'help'. Last I heard they were taking that to mean 'at a price'.
The OWS commentary is pretty much just....

I'm not talking shit about OWS. I support those protestors.

And yes, Mrs. Warren came back to indoctrinate us this summer after overseeing and managing the TARP bailout.

The OWS can find better role models than Warren. She administered the bailouts that they are protesting.

They ain't paying taxes because of the waivers from the local IDA they got along with the financing underwriting...

The point IS that you're making associations between politicians and the movement. Hence BOZO AWARD. It's a completely invalid assertion.
PERIOD.
And I'd think a smart kid like yourself would avoid that shit.
Now, if you want to compare her to a FUCKING DOPE which I had a GOOD DEAL of experience with and can speak DIRECTLY to his CONSTITUENT representation ... aka HIS PRIMARY JOB ... and the possibility that just about anybody, even my fucking dog can (who by the way drowned in  a salt marsh years ago[:D]) can do a superior Job... I'll take Warren and her consumerist approach any day.
But I can say authoratively that nobody in the two early camps is talking to Politicians for any purpose than to demand the right of assembly.

No more that the <great subrob,,,, Yeah corporations (factory? let's bag the flinstones crazytalk) ... But corporations generally should... Cept like when you have a guy like Mitt Romney as your governor for instance... In that case, you have a governor giving out 6-8 year tax waivers that result in lots of service based companies (hint,.... NOTHING RELOCATES FASTER THAN A CALL-CENTER)... Anyway Mitt runs away to run for president against Mc Cain and Huckabee and we never fucking see him again... and 2 years into Gov Patrick's tenure ... MOST of the "prosperity" hjas flown the fucking coop. FOR GIVE US if we actually LIVING IN the Commonwealth Of Massachusetts tell you basically ....

No it isn't. Warren stated that she "created the intellectual foundation for what they [OWS] do." Not only is that completely wrong, but it's megalomania on a grand and cosmic scale. She's the one that is making associations with the movement. I'm just relaying her words.

Ummmm ... then perhaps you should've chose your own characterization of her actions because what you're saying in this quote below is murky (like the charles)  then ....

quote:

A lot of people would take from your use of "rallying with the OWS crowd" to mean there's more than an obtuse statement no one's even seen on a news broadcast. "If the OWS crowd knew her past then she would be thrown to the gutter faster"
Sort of hints to people on the periphery get a MUCH DEEPER impression from that wording. And I would think as either s student of law or government (which is the ONLY way you're getting exposed to Warren) at Happyland, you'd know better. How the fuck do you think people in the last 48 hours have been walking away from amateurish password dumps at BPD and The Patrolman's Professional Association was done by hackers from Occupy Boston? It started with unclear statements. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in your case. In the other case, the slip of the tongue was in fact intentional. And if it weren't for MAGL ch 272 S99(c?), I'd demonstrate.

She'll make a good Massachusetts  Senator, if for nothing else that she won't say some of the foilhead shit Brown has had to say regarding his interaction with the other politicians... AND Massachusetts will get it's two votes back.... cause right now, in the senate, we have no representation at the time of voting because the senators are voting against each other.
Brown must go
