Ok here is the one for a 18-36 strand leather whip. It is cool if done right! Go to Walmart's,and but the little cardboard holders with solid strings of leather, various colors. Mine are a combo of red, black, white, and purple. They are called TEJAS leather lace. Buy three packs of each. Next buy a one,and a half inch keyring, and four packs of that thick purple thread in a little plastic bag. Now take, and get a good pair of scissors to cut.Use a yard stick, and cut them exactly 36" long. 4-6 of each color. It all depends on how many strands of lace you want. I prefer 44 strands of lace which means for a heavier, and more comfortable lacer whip. Now divide them off into 4 red, 4 black,4 white with a few purple for color. Take the 36" laces, and intercolor them in other words seperate to white, black, red, purple so no one color is bunched up. Make it a rainbow of colors divided up. Run sets of five,or six at a time threw the ring so they now are 18" strands doubled run 5 laces through, and they make 10 18" so run 22 through, and it makes 44 18" laces strung over the ring. Now make them even at end. You may have a few stagglers longer, but try to get as many even as posible. Take a bag tie,and at ring tie them as close to the ring as possible for now. Here you will need help unless you can find a place to hook ring in to hold in place while you lace up the leather lace,or purple thick thread in the little plastic bags. Run down 6-10" depending on the lenght of lace you want to use. With this kind of whip you can hold in hand,or hook onto nunchucks which I prefer with a connector ring for easy spinning. At the bottom of where lacing begins hold thumb on lace, then make a ring around the bottom, and make a knot, but not a big one. Once secured begin winding it around the strands tightly as you can,and don't leave any gaps to be seen. Each turn around check, and push strands together to make look like one solid piece of leather,or thread. Make tight. Wind all the wy to keyring, then around the bottom of keyring till no strands show. Now remove the tie,and tie it off strand,,and glue with leather glue to secure knot from slipping while whipping. You are finished. Now make a second identical so you can do double fisting whipping.Same with floggers. Double of most! Now for indian torture whip. An actual replication of SW indians torture whip they used on the whites, and soldiers. Get a 4-6" wood bead real thick with big enough hole in middle to run strands through. Now get rawhide laces, not colored.Same name brand in rawhide look.Buy 24-48 beads big enough to run lace through.I like the varigated color beads, and black. On on top of other two per strand. Cut 36" long a dozen laces. Run one end through the hole, and other outside one side of wood bead. Should give you 24 17" strands. Now take another piece of rawhide lace, and wrap from six-8" from bottom of wood beaqd down to make handle to hold it by. Glue beginning up into wood bead so it does not show, then wind down to bottom. Make unseen knot, and glue. Now at end place one verigated, one black,or red,or whatever color you chose.then tie knot in end to hold beads, and help sting! You have it! Realy affective, hurts like hell if used right, and looks cool! Now for the rope whip. There are two kinds. One looped for heavier whips, and one cut ends then frilled for light, and teasing. Looped get a 2 1/2 " keyring heavy duty. Get a heavy wound nylon rope like they make hammocks out of.Not the scratchy kind, but soft. The thicker the harder. Now it should be at least 18" lenght loops.Keep rope in one pice-DO NOT CUT! Now wind it from hand to elbow just the right lenght to about a dozen times to make 24connected strands uncut in a wound up mess looking like a lariot. Now the fun part cut it,and tape the ends so do not ravel out. Now begin running into ring. Three strands at a time,or as many as you can.Once you get the strands through the ring tie them off with a tie at ring to hold in place. Now lace handle like others, and when at top remove the tie,and then fix in place . I use the red,or purple leather lace to make lace handle.Remember to keep them tight with no gaps to show white in between rounds. Now play! 12/10/97
