Better not be Perry or I swear I'll contribute to Obama.

I would say "ditto", but there is no way that I'd contribute money to Obama.

I see no one... to me the biggest mistake in the Republican Party is in embracing confrontational politics. I believe it would be a landslide Republican victory if they put forward a candidate that was moderate and vowed to work with the Democratic party and find acceptable compromises if necessary for the betterment of America.

It would be a walk…not happening.

Perry hasn't got an ice cube's chance in Hades. He just hasn't got what it takes to be elected outside of Texas.

So, we're agreed that Perry is a fuckwit that will make the situation even worse?

I know a couple of independent voters that are watching Huntsman very closely.

The powers that be won't let that ever happen. He'd be attacked left and right as a RINO and possibly even ejected from the party. (Yeah, they can do that).

Sanity -> RE: Prediction....flavor of the week Cain,... going down.... (10/28/2011 3:20:12 PM)

The Dems generally and Obama in particular are fully embracing highly confrontational politics, I can dig up all kinds of highly partisan, nasty, divisive quotes. What do you say about that, is that one of those things that its okay for the Dems to do it, but if the Reps do it somehow thats worse?

Examples.

Your idea of confrontational and mine may not be the same. As we both know when it comes to Dems and Republicans, your own definitions can vary.

slvemike4u -> RE: Prediction....flavor of the week Cain,... going down.... (10/28/2011 3:31:21 PM)

Your second mistake would be in not addressing KD's salient point ie: instead of nominating another in a long line of cultural warriors for the right....the GOP should try a moderate approach....of course you guys would first have to figure out what to do with the fundie assholes currently driving your bus [:)]

Charles Krauthammer places Obamas ugly divisiveness into context very well, while commenting on Obamas "punish our enemies" speech to a Latino radio audience:

Oh no Ron,do t you know you are supposed to place a high value on one of the rights more celebrated cultural warriors....lol.What an asshole...and I don't mean Krauthammer [:)]

No offence or nothing... but cant you do better than breitbarttv?

Hillwilliam -> RE: Prediction....flavor of the week Cain,... going down.... (10/28/2011 5:51:52 PM)

Rabidly confrontational politics (mostly by the party out of power) has been a constant fact of life since Clinton's first term.

I personally put the blame on Limbaugh and Gingrich and their "my way or the highway" style for the fact that Bob Dole lost because they alienated so many independents that didn't like Clinton but they gave those voters no choice.

Net result, alienated independents. Clinton wins.

What is the Republican party doing now? SAME FUCKING THING and it's gonna put Obama back in office.

kdsub -> RE: Prediction....flavor of the week Cain,... going down.... (10/28/2011 5:52:32 PM)

And I agree with you ...but...you will have to admit that Obama bucked his own party in some compromises...Even if you don't think they were enough... I have seen fewer compromises on the Republican side
