I've been doing vampire scenes for about 8 years now and one thing seems to stick out in my head: it's all about either the power struggle, or the lack thereof. Now of course, this may seem very broad, but I point this out because there is a supernatural edge to it. (The following assumes you will be taking the role of the bloodsucker in a very in depth scene.) A scene involving a vampire and a human is about getting your human to realize that not only are they completely outmatched, but the implications of your existence offer some great material to fuck with the human's head. There is the classical, which is the good ol' Bram Stoker "there is no God" or "God is powerless/dead", but there are also some more modern ideas to play on. The theory of evolution brings up an interesting point if vampires do exist, quite possibly the greatest being that not only is man no longer the top of the food chain, but also that vampires evolved specifically to be humanity's predator. A world (and therefore, scene) in which vampires exist would break the spirit of a species (humanity) that had no evidence against the theory that it was God for so long, that the concensus became that they were god. Along the same lines of Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club when Tyler Durden asked "If our fathers were our model for God, and our fathers failed, what does that say about God?", the question becomes "If we killed God with our impatience waiting for evidence, and evidence states that vampires not only exist, but are our evolutionary superiors, what does that make the vampiric race?" You could get this same reaction out of a weaker mind (no offense to any subs or slaves, I'm just saying -- I know most of you are in the service industry) with a Nazi interrogation or other scene that focuses on Fascism or any other philosiphy focussing on a master-race mentality. The beauty of a vampire scene in the master-race mindset is that while it takes a deeper, more rich mind, the impact goes much further. Once instinct becomes a factor, realizing that instinct is the most basic and integrated "programming" every animal has, and once that instinct is touched on, the fear can reach epic proportions. And the reactions can be unforgettable. Greed is also a powerful theme in a vampire scene. You may have had scenes in the past where your sub/slave begs you for something and your response is "Why should I? What the bloody fuck do I get out of it?" Imagine what a human would have to go through to pay in advance for the gift of strength, speed, stealth, mind control, nearly incomparable sex appeal. . .immortality. I know one fellow Dom who has (at last count mind you, this number could have fluxuated in the last three years since I met with him) seven slaves who exist in an almost constant state scening as "lowly mortals" struggling to impress their vampiric master for the right to be chosen as his next ascendant. I will say this much; with a sufficient load of charisma, a Dom could pull this over on another Dom, but even the BDSM community frowns upon the likes of Jim Jones and Charles Manson. Suffice it to say, unless you are so advanced in your Dominative skills that you can handle the massive responsibility, I would not suggest doing a long term scene using this theme as a basis, not just for the danger, but for the high possibility of boredom. But it is fun to do every once in a while. I'll wrap this up by giving a bit of a variation suggestion. Have your slave characterize a vampire who has been terrorizing the puny cattle that are humanity for (insert any span of time you want here, it's not real important) at the simple command of his petty, arrogant whims. Now, be it Buffy, Van Helsing, D or even John Fucking Wayne (yes, that was his middle name, no, you cannot convince me otherwise), but become the Vampire Hunter. Catch him. Torture him. Going back up to the point about humanity getting irrefutable proof they we are not God, try on the shoes of a God defeated by a mere mortal. Try it on. . .I'll bet it looks good on ya'!
