Pft.... [8D]

Sanity -> RE: OWS denied permit over public masturbation problems (10/29/2011 8:03:59 AM)

Youre sure these masturbating leftists dont deserve their own thread, Rich?  [:D]

And we could start one about the need to escort innocent people past these unruly mobs...  and another about health concerns...

More seriously though, the moderators used to take care of this, these days they are allowing unlimited threads. Now we have the same couple of posters abusing the privilege, starting thread after thread about the same topics, and yes it is ridiculous.

TheHeretic -> RE: OWS denied permit over public masturbation problems (10/29/2011 8:10:08 AM)

Well, Sanity, I figured there was a solid element of jerk offs in the bunch from day one, but I was thinking it was more metaphorical...

slvemike4u -> RE: OWS denied permit over public masturbation problems (10/29/2011 8:10:21 AM)

So you would be in favor of the mods censoring content.....for instance limiting any given poster, say you for example, from maybe one or two bullshit anti Obama anything threads a week ?

It's the main topic in the news these days.

It's A topic in the news, RML, and completely worthy of discussion, regardless of where any of us might find ourselves on the issue. Do you think spamming the forum is an incentive to rational discussion though, or simply an attempt to put up a wall of noise? My display shows 18 threads on the first page. 11 of those deal with OWS, and 5 (now) are from a single poster. I don't see that as an invitation to serious conversation, just somebody plastering propaganda posters down the length of the street.

I agree - which is getting to be a disturbing occurrence Rich. Surely one or two threads would be enough to deal with one subject. Isn't there something in the TOS about starting multiple threads on the same subject?

slvemike4u -> RE: This is sickening and reflects some of what the occupy movement is all about (10/29/2011 8:40:06 AM)

Oh good god...it is a fucking Internet forum,if a subject bores you.....bypass it,do not call for tighter censoring [:@]

VioletGray just started another one. [:D]

TheHeretic -> RE: This is sickening and reflects some of what the occupy movement is all about (10/29/2011 8:46:33 AM)

I don't see where it would be a TOS problem, or fall anywhere within our new, "kinder and gentler" guidelines either. I recall the old moderation style, where certain posters couldn't even start a discussion, without the thread being immediately moved.

I'd rather see self restraint, than an imposition from above.

Seems like the jerkoffs in Wisconsin could do with a bit of self restraint as well.

slvemike4u -> RE: This is sickening and reflects some of what the occupy movement is all about (10/29/2011 8:48:42 AM)

Yup,and it is a real good one.Definitely worth a look.....though you shouldn't bother sanity, understanding the nuances of what the young ,an says is beyond your feeble capacities.

[sm=juggle.gif][sm=marionette.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif]

I don't even know where to begin with this because I'm laughing so hard.

EVERY thread you post is about the same topic.

Slamming liberals and Democrats.

What? Over-reacting much? Nowhere did I write any of that but geez do we really need 11 threads?

Isn't there something about not starting a new thread if there is already a recent one?

Oh, come on!!!

Every topic that is in the news generates multiple threads on the same subject.

You are just unhappy because it is something you don't agree with.

TheHeretic -> RE: This is sickening and reflects some of what the occupy movement is all about (10/29/2011 10:21:45 AM)

Where I find myself in regard to to the OWS jerkoffs is pretty much irrelevant to the subject of the propaganda plastering, RML. Approaching it from different angles is great. Taking every press release, every different event, as a topic for individual threads strikes me as counterproductive overkill, though. Unless others are prepared to be just as obsessive in reading, as the spammers are in launching, good points, good observations, valid arguments, all get lost in the noise.

To all.

I agree.

We can have one thread that is Democratic... and covers all dem things there.

We can have one that is Republican... and covers all things republican there.

We can have one Independent..

We can have one that is Religious.

4 threads Folks, take your pick!

TheHeretic -> RE: This is sickening and reflects some of what the occupy movement is all about (10/29/2011 12:45:33 PM)

Embracing the extremist positions, huh, Tazzy? There can be no middle? Any position must be taken to its most extreme edge? I'm used to that bullshit from many, but not accustomed to seeing it come from you. A bit of moderation (the self-imposed kind), simply cannot be considered a reasonable goal?

tazzygirl -> RE: This is sickening and reflects some of what the occupy movement is all about (10/29/2011 12:48:07 PM)

Who decides the middle Rich? You? Fire?

I expressed my position on why so many threads were started. This topic is a hot issue... many things are occuring.

To cover everything "Occupied" under one thread just wont cut it.

I do see your point, even expressed that some could be incorporated into others, then I come back on to see.... what?... more attempts to control the expression of thoughts? of anger? of horror?

At any time you could find 12 threads bashing Obama on the front page... no one said a word.

At one point, 11 of Palin bashing... and that was just fine.

But.. this? This is where some decide to draw the line? This, the issue about freedom of speech and the anger against corporate greed and income inequality?

This is what drew the attention enough to have someone speak up and demand that threads should have been incorporated?

Come on!

Hey leave me out of this, I was just commenting on the number of threads on OWS. Besides what I think is moot since I live in Canada and not the US

How about the person who hits "new post," every time a new link shows up in the inbox, or on a facebook page?

It's cool. I might just keep this one floating with all sorts of sickening stuff that reflects what the Occupy movement is.

And with this great diversity of threads, Tazzy, how many forum participants are even going to know what I'm referencing, when I keep calling the protesters "jerkoffs" for a while?
